fie | THE DALLAS POST/Wednesday, October 9, 1985 By CHARLOT M. DENMON Staff Correspondent The Tunkhannock Tigers proved they knew their home course Thurs- day afternoon by capturing the three medalist points over the par- 48 12-hole Shadowbrook golf course to down the Dallas Mountaineers, 19%-1%. The Tigers upped their record to 12-1 while dropping Dallas to 7-5, the lowest record for the Mountaineers in a number of years. Bill Justice took low medalist with a score of 50, his teammate Tom Paulsen was second low medalist shooting a 53 and Rob Lange took the third medalist honor with a 54. Rob Dombek and Chris Givens were the only Mountaineers not shut out by their opponents. Results of the matches were Lange defeated Dombek 2-1; Justice swept Rich Holthaus 3-0 and Paul- sen shut out Jim Aikman 3-0. Chris Busch lost 3-0 to John Boretti and John Thomas lost his match, 3-0 to E.J. Shaffer. Mike Olshan defeated Cowboys (continued from page 14) The Cowboy defensive held the Knights scoreless, as the game ended Cowboys 20, Lake-Lehman 0. The B tam was not bo be denied, as they came out throwing. On the second play of the game, QB Selen- ski found runningback Fred Rosen- crans in the open and connected for a 50 yard TD. The extra point failed. Back to the air waves, the Cow- boys on an option play had Jere- miah Van Orden connect with QB Selenski for a 25 yard TD. The extra point came on a pass from Selenski to Bob Jesse. Opportunity knocked again, as after some fine offensive and defen- sive play, the ball was resting on the Knights 5 yard line. The call A 25 yard reception by Jeremiah Van Orden and teh E.P. by Van Orden capped the scoring for the Cowboys, except for a fine defensive play by Tony Bealla who caught the Knights in their own end zone for a safety. Bealla, who is the Cowboy kickoff man did a fine job in that depart- ment, as he kept the Knights deep in their own territory most of the game. Michael Gerwin had a good day for the Cowboys, as he was constantly in the Knights backfield. Mike was also responsible for a fumble recovery. Overall, the Knights played a fine game, but were unable to recover following the quick scoring strikes by the Cow- boys. Givens 215-15.
