NEanehie eo The tragic death of David Kramer of Shavertown, last week saddened . the entire Back Mountain. David was seriously injured while prepar- ing the road for the triathlon. Volun- teers are a vital part of the commu- nity. Without them many organizations like fire companies, amublance crews, many functions like the Fall Fair, Library Auction, and the Triathlon could not con- tinue. It is so sad that David’s death was caused, indi- 2 rectly, by i his concern for other people’s safety. Sin- cere sympa- thy to his wife Pat and their families. Exciting, isn’t it? Silas Annually at Trinity Nursery School, we view the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly first-hand. In a specially designed butterfly cage, we place caterpillars with plenty of their favorite food, milkweed leaves. We watch each day as they grow slower and slower until it is time to go into crysalis. Day by day we watch the crysalis with its beau- tiful gold thread until it becomes dark. Then, at last, a beautiful Monarch butterfly appears. The- wonder of this life cycle never ceases to amaze me. The children are fascinated with the entire process. Later in September, we will hold our farewell to butterfly parade when we will let our beautiful but- terflies fly to their winter homes in California and Mexico.
