Alfred Eisenpreis - with an out- standing background in retailing, government and newspapers - is a futurist, whose topic will forecast the future state of the family. In this age of changing lifestyles and values, Mr. Eisenpreis will analyze past, current and future social trends, and their effects on family life. “Born in Germany, Eisenpreis came to Wyoming Valley at an early age, and received his educa- tion here, graduating from Wilkes College. His first retailing experi- ence was with Pomeroy’s, Wilkes- Barre. From 1943-1973, he was a Senior Management Executive of Allied Stores Corp., one of the larg- est U.S. department store compa- nies. In 1974, Eisenpreis was appointed Commissioner-Administrator for - Economic Development for the City of New York. He was also responsi- ble for the Port of New York, and directed the famous ‘‘Operation Sail” program, New York’s Bi-cen- tennial Salute.
