Glass carvings
enhance decor
at White Horse

The large, clear glass back bar reflects the paintings of horses and
horseshoes on the opposite wall, and on each end of the large
mirrored glass are carvings of white horses, manes flying in the
wind, done by John Fervier, artist friend of Sid and Judy Silver. The
artist, who did the carving in the glass, also did the carving in the
Heinz Building which houses the Pittsburgh Philharmonic.
The glass back bar and the highly polished candy counter bar date
back to 1910 and was purchased by the owners of the White Horse
from a place in the Poconos.
Light barn wood on the walls is highlighted by a deeper patterned
carpeting on the floor and the woven, roll-up shades, reveal a variety
of beautiful plants along the front of the tavern.
Along the side wall are two prints by Ceci LaLoine, the only two in
this area with the exception of several at Genetti’s in Hazleton. The
large three-dimensional plaster of paris plaque of white horse heads
leaves no doubt that there is a horse lover in the family, that person
being Judy Silver.
