SUPPORT THOSE THAT ADVERTISE IN THE DALLAS POST = = DEAR AUNT PATTY: I have nothing to do but write you. Nothing to say but to say it. So I decided to take a piece of chalk, some ink, and type you this letter in pencil. I do not live where I used to because I moved to where I live now. If you come to visit me just ask anyone where I live because nobody knows. I am so sorry we are so far together. My Aunt Mary died last week and is doing fine. I hope you feel the same. My cousin, Dot, has the mumps and is having a swell time. She is at death’s door and the doctor is trying to pull her through. Dad was feeling a little tipsy today when he came in last night. While doing the split on a banana peel he slipped and killed himself. He left a pair of suspenders to support the family. Joan got her tongue twisted on a noodle last night and died last week. I am sending you a coat in the mail. I took the buttons off to make it lighter and put them in the pockets. I'd send you the ten dollars I owe you but I forgot about it until after I sealed this letter. When you answer my letter write slowly because I can’t read fast. IM Crazy P.S. If you got this letter let me ANDREW AND STELLA GORTO, 230 Parrish Street, Dallas, recently returned home after attending the XCC Convention in Akron, Ohio. While at the convention, the Gortos won a door prize which was a watch on a wooden base decorated with emblems and seashells. -0- CATHERINE ELIZABETH BRADY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Brady, Jr., of 207 Holly St., Trucksville; and KIMBERLY ANN SORBER, daughter of Forrest Sorber of RD 1 Box 32, Noxen; and Carol Sorber, RD 1 Box 14, Harveys Lake; were among a number of Luzerne County students who recently attended orientation ses- sions for incoming freshmen and transfer students at Clarion Univer- sity of Pennsylvania. DEAR CRAZY: I’m crazy 2. But, r u 4 real? DEAR AUNT PATTY: I have been friends with a partic- ular person for over two years. About five months ago, her mother suddenly died. I telephoned her to tell her I was sorry. 1 also sent her a card, made several dishes of food for the family, and my husband was a pall bearer. I also took off work to attend the funeral. Unfortunately, my dear father died recently. This “friend” did not call, send a card, or anything. I am really hurt. Do you think I should feel justified dropping her as a “friend”’? HURTING DEAR HURTING: Unfortunately, some people just do not know how to express sympa- thy to others. If you feel your friendship is not worth continuing because you feel used, then put her on your list of casual friends and remove her from your special list. Sometimes it takes a personal trag- edy to find out just who our true friends are. DEAR AUNT PATTY: I was at a picnic recently where a delicious broccoli and cauliflower was served. It had a creamy white dressing and some cheese in it. Can has received highest honors for the spring term at Skidmore College, a coeducational, liberal arts institu- tions with an enrollment of 2,100 students. Highest honors are awarded for a you help me find the recipe? VEGETABLE LOVER DEAR V .L.: I hope to hear from some of our readers with a recipe for you. Can anyone help our vegetable lover? DEAR AUNT PATTY: I went to an amusement park recently with my son and his base- ball team. One of the fathers attended with his son, but said his wife could not come because of ‘a toothache. At the park this father became friendly with another kid’s aunt. Actually they seemed very friendly, if you know what I mean! I was wondering if you think I should mention the teasing, hugs and love pats to the absent mother. I feel guilty knowing what I do and not mentioning it to her. What should I do? SEEING IS BELIEVING DEAR SEEING: Keep your mouth shut and don’t mention a word about any of it to anyone. It sounds like that mother has enough to worry about without others adding fuel to the fire.
