Everything is ready for the campers at Camp Louise, the Girl Scout camp for Penn's Woods Girl Scout Council near Berwick. The season is underway with all kinds of activities that the girls just love. The ‘‘Night Owls’ are sleeping late in the morning and doing special things at night. The backpackers and canoers will be on their way enjoying the out-of-doors, and testing their own ability to cope. There are still a few slots open in the last two sessions of camp. These include programs for girls finishing second grade through high school with special emphasis on computers along with outdoor fun, arts, sports sampler, a canoe trip and synchronized swimming. Call the Council Office at 829- 2631 for more information. Resident Camp closes on August 10. Working with the girls this year is a great camp staff. Fire is such a frightening thing, moving with such swiftness, particularly dangerous to the elderly or sick. Our prayers go to the families who lost loved ones and also to those hospitalized. God Bless our volunteer fire- men, who care enough to get up in the middle of the night to rescue those in the community. Often we forget that these folks, Fi : too, have jobs lives of their own, yet they are always available when we need them. -O- ; MARGARET E. DARING AND STEPHEN J.
