The large, picture-type windows across the front and the light
colored walls highlighted by dozens of portraits of children offers a
family atmosphere for diners at the Colonial Pancake House and
Restaurant at 185 Wyoming Ave., Kingston. The friendly ‘‘Hello’’ and
cheerful smile of the hostess and waitresses makes the lone, diner,
parents and children, or businessmen’s group feel at ease. u
The menu offers a Variety of selections for even the most’ particular
person whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner. A wide variety of
omelets and pancakes, from plain to such gourmet-style pancakes as
pecan, chocolate chip, blueberry or apple, or to the diner who prefers
plain pancakes there are buttermilk, buckwheat or regular, in'short
stacks, silver dollar size or average size. A favorite of many diners at
the restaurant are the fruit roll-ups, blintzes or waffles so light they
melt in your mouth.
Sandwiches from a grilled cheese, hamburg, hot dog, or steak to a
variety of club sandwiches including turkey, ham, roast beef or tuna
may be ordered any time of the day or night since the restaurant is
open 24 hours daily.
Dinners from spaghetti to sizzling steaks and chops are prepared to
order and the fresh salad bar is free with any dinner. For those who
prefer deep fried platters, we suggest the Colonial’s fried chicken,
fried oysters, scallops, shrimp, tenderloins, and other such foods.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner specials are offered daily and for
children under 12 years of age, there is a special menu which includes
hot dogs, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, spaghetti, hamburgs,
bar-b-ques plus numerous other items, all served with French fries.
Colonial’s desserts are an unforgettable treat from the homemade
rice pudding, cheesecake, pies, cakes, all made on the premises, and
for the dieter there is fresh fruit in season.
There are Colonial Pancake Houses and Restaurants in three
locations, 185 Wyoming Ave., Kingston Corners, Kingston; 2001
