THE DALLAS POST/Wednesday, July 10, 1985 17 Management seminar conducted Many local companies were rep- resented at a recenty held Unem- ployment Compensation Manage- ment seminar co-sponsored by Merchants Bank and Automatic Data Processing, Inc., ADP. Held at the Sheraton Crossgates hotel, the main focus of the seminar was in providing employers with methods of controlling their unemployment taxes. Ms. Vashti Harden of ADP and main speaker for the seminar stated that “many firms pay too much in unemployment taxes because they don’t realize that it is a controllable tax. Estimated figures are that Pa. employers will pay anywhere from $216.00 to $911.00 per employee this year in unemployment taxes.” Ms. Harden sited the importance of the supervisors’ role in the con- trol of unwarrented claims, exercis- ing financial options aimed at low- ering unemployment tax rates, and the necessity of monitoring all bene- fit claims and charges. Merchants Bank and Automatic Data Processing formed a working relationship several years ago in order to provide area businesses with superior atuomated payroll and accounting services. A play of universal appeal, La Mancha thrilled New York audiences during the 1964 numerous awards including the coveted Tony. Since complet- ing its New York run, it has been translated into 27 different lan- guages and has the distinction of having been performed in more countries than any other single day, “Man of La Mancha” relates the story of Miguel de Cervantes who has been thrown into prison to await trial by the Inquisition for an offense against the church. There he is hailed before a kan- garoo court of his fellow prisoners (thieves, cut-throats and trollops) who pro- pose to steal his meager possessions, one of which is a manuscript of a novel called ‘Don Quix- ote.” Cervantes, seek- ing to save it, pro- poses a novel defense- -a story as entertain- ing. Donning make-up and costume, Cer- vantes and his’ faithr- ful servant transform themselves into Don Quixote and Sancho Panza and proceed to play out the story with the participation of the other prisoners as characters. Family history has long been recognized as a major coronary risk factor, along with such condictions as high blood pres- sure, diabetes and high levels of choles- terol and other fatty substances in the blood.
