    Students honored
Thirty one sophomroes, representing 38 percent of this class at Wyoming Seminary College
Preparatory School, Kingston, recently received certificates of merit by Science Research
Associates, Inc., for their achievement in the National Educational Development Test
(N.E.D.T.). These students recorded scores in the top 10 percent of all students nationally who
took the test. The N.E.D.T. is an achievement test which records aptitude scores in English
usage, math usage, social studies, reading and natural science reading. In the first row, from

Director of Admissions at Keystone
Junior College, according to John L.
Wighton, Vice President for Devel-
opment and College Relations.
A Dallas resident, Farkas
received his Masters of Science
degree in Counselor Education and
his Bachelor of Science degree in
Secondary Education from the Uni-
versity of Scranton.
During the past five years,
Farkas has been employed at Key-
stone as the Coordinator of Counsel-
ing and Academic Advisement and
Act 101 counselor. He has also been
a counselor for the college’s
Nokomis program. Prior to joining
the institution, he was employed as

The Dietetic Department of Luzerne County Community College recently sponsored a display by
the Dairy, Food and Nutrition Council entitled. ‘ ‘Osteoporosis and You.’ The display was set in
the college’s Student Center and was designed to make the college community more aware of
the roie that calcium plays in maintaining the bones throughout our lifetime. Shown with the
display are, from left, Justine P. Arnold, Wilkes-Barre, LCCC dietetic program director; Bruce
Neil, Dallas, LCCC hotel and restaurant program chairperson; and Nancy L. Gloman,
Mountaintop, LCCC dietetic assistant professor. Luzerne County Community College will begin
its first dietetic technician class this summer. The program is a two-year associate degree
curriculum designed to prepare students for entry-level dietetic technician positions in hospitals,
long-term care facilities, clinics and the school lunch program.
