    THE DALLAS POST/Wednesday, June 26, 1985 9
DEAR AUNT PATTY:
I recently became disabled due to
surgery. Because of this I'm finan-
cially unable to afford my Blue
Cross/Blue Shield payments of
$189.64 every three months. I've
gone on Medical Assistance. I now
carry a green medical card in my
wallet. Can you please tell me if this
type of insurance is as good as Blue
Cross/Blue Shield? Will this insur-
ance cover me completely if I
should need further hospitalization
and or surgery?
STANDING ON ONE LEG
DEAR STANDING ON ONE LEG:
I cannot tell you the exact differ-
ence between the two because I do
not have a copy of your Blue Cross/
Blue Shield agreement. I did find
out what your green Medical Assist-
ance card will cover. I telephoned
Mr. John Gurzynski, District Office
Manager of the Luzerne County
Assistance Office. He said the green
Medical Assistance card entitles
you to inpatient and outpatient hos-
pital care. It includes visits to the
doctor. It does not cover drugs
except as used as an inpatient in a
hospital.
I hope this information is useful
~ for you.
DEAR AUNT PATTY:
I'm writing to correct “Laughing
in Lehman’s” mistake about the
sign congratulating the 1985 gradu:
ates.
There is no misspelling! The word
CONGRADULATIONS is used when
congratulations GRADuates. (The D
is substituted so graduate appears
to be part of the word).
I wonder how many Lehman
Knights know of this often used
form? I bet not many, you shouldn’t
laugh so loud!
A MOUNTAINEER SCHOLAR
DEAR AUNT PATTY:
My brother and I are trying to
talk our Dad into letting us rent a
VCR machine and some movies for
a weekend. Dad says he doesn’t
know how we would connect the
machine -to our TV. Is it difficult?
Do you think a 14-year-old could do

he served pastorates in Hartwick

service. The community is cordially
invited to both the service and the
reception as the Shillabeer family is
welcomed to the church and the

machines are portable and there-
fore are called VCP’s. The connec-
tion involves plugging the machine
into an electrical outlet and pushing
a connector onto the back of your
TV. I tried it myself and I feel that
anyone who can read should be able
to follow the illustrated directions
written on the VCP machines. The
video store where you rent the
machine will also give you a demon-
stration.
DEAR AUNT PATTY:
Four of my friends and I tried
Canfield’s Diet Chocolate Fudge
Soda. We all think it tastes awful.
We can’t believe people in this area
have been anxiously awaiting its
arrival in Dallas.

DEAR LOVERS:
As the old saying goes ‘To each

DEAR AUNT PATTY:
I have been reading several reci-
ground chicken or turkey. Do you
know where I can find it?
MRS. M
DEAR MRS. M.:
Ground chicken is sold at the
Chicken Plus Store in the Dallas
Shopping Center in a two pound
frozen box. Weis Market has ground
turkey in a one pound size in a
wrapping like ground sausage is
sold.
For people who are trying to cut
down on their consumption of red
meat and cholesterol, the ground
poultry is a good idea. Also, it is
cheaper than beef. When the ground
poultry is used in recipes like spa-
ghetti sauce with ground meat or
chili, it is hard to tell the difference.
DEAR AUNT PATTY:
I am not going to vote anymore on
election day, because by the time I
pass thru the “vultures” handing
out tickets and begging for votes
who stand outside the polls, my
blood pressure is up, my body is
tense, and my ulcers aroused.
These people are offensive to my

right of peace.
A friend tells me there is a law
that says that there can be no
‘“‘vultures’’ passing out tickets
within one block of a polling place.
Is this true? If so, why is it not
upheld? Can you check into this? If
the police need a formal complaint
to uphold it, I will do so. I'll
anxiously be watching your column
for an answer.
WANTS A FREE PATH TO THE
POLLS
DEAR FREE PATH:
I contacted Phyllis Mundy, Presi-
dent of The League of Women
Voters, to find an answer for you. In
“The Guide to the Conduct of Poll-
ing Places on Election Day” pub-
lished by the Luzerne County Board
of Elections as a guide for Judges of
Elections, Inspectors and Poll
Watchers it states, “No partisan
political activity may take place
within 10 feet from the entrance to
the polling room”. I hope this infor-
mation will be useful for you. You
may have to take your tape mea-
sure with you to the next election!
