‘He cooks more than she does Staff Correspondent Rev. and Mrs. David Penley moved to the Back Mountain area from the South a little more than a year ago when Pastor Penley accepted the pastorate of the Dallas Baptist Church, Memorial Highway, Idetown. The local church is the Pastor’s first permanent congregation since he was graduated from the semi- nary. Both he and his wife, Sabra, like the area although they find the winters difficult to adjust to since they ‘were used to the warm weather of the south. Rev. Penley is from Miami, Fla., and Sabra is a native of Fort Worth, Texas. A young couple, the Penleys usually do most activities as a joint venture, especially’ preparing food since David enjoys cooking and Sabra, who is employed fulltime at Commonwealth Telephone, enjoys coming home and relaxing. “I like cooking when I have a lot of time,” said Sabra, “But David enjoys cooking and can prepare a meal in no time at all. He makes delicious meals.” Pastor David and Sabra explained that it was a mutual agreement that he prepares most of the meals since Sabra was at work all day while he could usually find time to plan for their evening dinner. During the summer he enjoys barbecuing on their grill and both of them particularly enjoy Mexican food. They have: discovered, how- ever, that most people in the North prepare Mexican food differently than the Penleys do. (See COOKS, page 8) . . Dallas Post/Charlot M. Denmon Preparing favorites Rev. David Penley prepares one of his favorite entrees, braised liver, while his wife, Sabra, observes. The Penleys share the preparation of meals although Sabra says her husband is actually the chef of the family. Pick Your Own 8 A.M. 'til Dark EDWARD M.
