Rev. and Mrs. David Penley
moved to the Back Mountain area
from the South a little more than a
year ago when Pastor Penley
accepted the pastorate of the Dallas
Baptist Church, Memorial Highway,
Idetown.
The local church is the Pastor’s
first permanent congregation since
he was graduated from the semi-
nary. Both he and his wife, Sabra,
like the area although they find the
winters difficult to adjust to since
they ‘were used to the warm
weather of the south.
Rev. Penley is from Miami, Fla.,
and Sabra is a native of Fort Worth,
Texas. A young couple, the Penleys
usually do most activities as a joint
venture, especially’ preparing food
since David enjoys cooking and
Sabra, who is employed fulltime at
Commonwealth Telephone, enjoys
coming home and relaxing.
“I like cooking when I have a lot
of time,” said Sabra, “But David
enjoys cooking and can prepare a
meal in no time at all. He makes
delicious meals.”
Pastor David and Sabra explained
that it was a mutual agreement that
he prepares most of the meals since
Sabra was at work all day while he
could usually find time to plan for
their evening dinner.
During the summer he enjoys
barbecuing on their grill and both of
them particularly enjoy Mexican
food. They have: discovered, how-
ever, that most people in the North
prepare Mexican food differently
than the Penleys do.

Wednesday, June 26, at 7 p.m. on
the pavilion of the Irem Temple
Country Club in Dallas. Dress will
be casual with a picnic-style dinner
and atmosphere. A mini auction will
be held after the dinner. Cost is
$12.50 per person with reservations
in advance.

library.
Ernest Ashbridge, president of the
library board of directors, has
announced this year’s auction,
which will be the first held at the
new library on the new grounds,
will be a tribute to the past chair-
men, who will be honorary -co-
chairmen of the auction. A special
honorary tribute is being planned
for these past chairmen on Thurs-
day or Friday night during the
auction. !
