The Dallas Borough Recreation
Center began its fun-filled summer
on June 10. The center will be open
each day, Monday through Friday
from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Daily activities for the summer
will include games such as kickball,
tag, basketball, ping-pong, tennis
and board games. Weekly activities
will include Arts ¢ Crafts, a story
hour, bike hikes and field trips.
Special events schedules thus far
are Western Night, Christmas in
July; a Lip Sync Contest, Olympic
Days and a surprise trip!
Come join the fun and games
under the direction of Mr. Jay Pope
with assistant director Christine
Dombek and staff members. Amy
O’Donnell, Sheri Ciccarelli, and Jill
Radzinski.
Children of all ages are welcome;
must be accompanied by an adult at
all times.
Commission
schedules
kids’ contest
The Kingston Township Recrea-
tion Commission will be sponsoring
Coloring Contest for children in
grades K-6. Entry forms may be
picked up at the Westmoreland Ele-
mentary School Playground from
the Recreation Staff or at the Town-
ship Municipal Building, 11 Carver-
ton Road, Trucksville during the
week of June 17. There will be one
prize awarded at each grade level.
All contest entries must be submit-
ted by June 21.
The Kingston Township Recrea-
tion Program will begin on June 17
at ‘the Westmoreland Elementary
School Playground.
Parents may register their child
from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 17.

Arrangements have been com-
pleted between representatives of
the Kiwanis Club and Circus USA to
bring an old-fashioned tented circus
to Dallas on- Saturday, July 6, at
Fall Fairgrounds on Route 118.
This year the circus features the
Great Wallenda Duo with Enrico
and Debbie Walldenda’s high wire
act.
The circus, ‘whether it is magic,
illusion or real is a treat for chil-
acts in the circus field from the
civilized nations of the world will be
seen.
Trained domestic and wild ani-
mals, including a performing ele-
phant, are with the circus coming to
town. Tents will be erected early
circus day at the circus grounds.

Festival set
The Shavertown Branch of the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will feature homemade pies,
cookies, brownies, bread and Welsh cookies at the Auxiliary's Annual June Festival on
Wednesday, June 19 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mrs. James Goodwin and Mrs. Frederick Eck are
coordinating the activities of the Shavertown Branch. The general public is cordially invited to
attend the June Festival which also includes live entertainment, a baby parade, celebrity
splash, bingo, a health fair for adults and children and chicken and spaghetti dinners. The
Festival will be held on the grounds of Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, 562 Wyoming Avenue,
Kington and all proceeds will be used to enhance patient care. Shown on the festival grounds
