Matt’s activities include football, track, and weightlifting. In his free time, Matt enjoys listening to old music (60's and 70’s) and playing basketball. After graduation, Matt will attend the University of Ship- pensburg where he will major in computer science. -0- BRIAN MOYE is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jordan K. Moye of North Lehigh Street, Shavertown. Brian is presently the third baseman for the first place Mountaineers baseball team. He is also a member o the Chess Club. Brian is employed at Weis Market in Dallas. In his free time, Brian plays tennis, and in the summer months he is a member. of the Back Mountain American Legion baseball team. After gradua- tion, Brian will attend Penn State, Wilkes-Barre campus, to major in computer science and also play baseball for the Nittany Lions. -0- CHRIS LAWLEY is the son of Dr. Charles B. Lawley and the late Betty Lawley. Chris has been a member of the tennis team for four years, and is this year’s captain. In his free time, Chris enjoys both skiing and water skiing. He also likes to hang out with his friends. Upon graduating, Chris will attend Gettysburg College to major in pre- med and play on the tennis team. -0- JILL RADZINSKI is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Radzinski of Center Hill Road in Dallas. Jill was an outstanding hockey player. She was chosen for both the Citizens Voice and Times Leader All-Star teams and was a member ofthe Wyoming Valley Conference All- Star team. Jill is also a member of the championship girls basketball team. In her junior year, Jill was chosen all-scholastic for her superb play on the softball field, and hopes to repeat this year. Along with her athletic honors, Jill was chosen to Who's Whop Among American High School Students. In her free time, Jill enjoys going shopping with her best friend, Eileen. Although unde- cided on a major, Jill will attend Penn = State University, Main Campus, where she will play hockey. -0- DARREN SPIVEY is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hammer of Westminster Drive in Dallas. Darren is a member o the high school golf team and in his free time, enjoys partying. After gradua- tion, Darren will attend the Univer- sity of Shippensburg. He is going in undeclared, but plans to go into business. -0- TOM TROSKO is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Trosko of White Birch Lane in Dallas. Tom is a member of the football and track teams an the weightlifting program. In his free time, Tom enjoys listen- ing to CCR, Hank Williams, Jr., Led Zeppelin and the Doors. After grad- uation, Tom will attend the Univer- sity of Shippensburg where he will major in pre-med. He also plans to play defensive lineman for Ship. -0- ALAN VALDERRAMA is the son of Mr. Hugo Valderrama of Shaver- town. Alan is emloyed at the Rock Quary-Eaton Rock in Tunkhannock. In his free time, Alan enjoys motor- cycles, hocaky sac, and competitive motocross. After high school, Alan will attend Penn State, Wilkes- Barre campus, to major in electron- ics. THE LAKE-LEHMAN GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM upped its record game with only four walks. Kelly Wandel also came through with a Key triple. : ~0- Lake Silkworty. Her hobbies include tennis, swimming, skiing, and biking. Her future plans are to study nursing at Misericordia. -0- JOHN MURRAY is the son of Vicki and John Murray of Harveys Lake His hobbies include waterski- ing, weightlifting, camping and fish- attending the Air Force Community College. -0- DENNIS MORGAN lives with Elizabeth Kordowski and Joseph Bala of Sweet Valley. He is a member of the track and football teams and also enjoys chess, fish- ing, girl watching and parties. He plans to take up aeronautics in the Navy. -0- JOSEPH LIEB is the son of Bonny Lieb Goble and David Lieb of Harveys Lake. His spare time is spent playing soccer, tennis, and plotting the violent overthrow of the American Government. He plans to go to college majoring in English Education and Creative Writing. He eventually hopes to beomce a burden on society. 0- THE SENIORS are leaving for their annual trip to Washington, D.C. on Friday, May 10. Each class- room honors Mary by erecting a Donna Greger May altar with beautiful flowers and decorations. Each room has a May crowning during the month of May. Gate of Heaven Church May crowning is Thursday, May 9, at 1 p.m. Two children from the First Communion class will crown our Lady. -0- ON FRIDAY, MAY 3, the students from grades six, seven and eight attended the Annual Bazaar at O’Reilly High School. Featured were various booths, entertainment, food, games and chances. The stu- dents came back with prizes from their games of chance and quite full of ethnic foods. -0- LAST SATURDAY, the second grade students received their First Communion with members of the CCD class of Gate of Heaven Church. Over 70 children received our Lord for the first time. Look for their picture soon. Sacramental teachers are St. Lucian, Sr. Eliza- beth and Miss Diane Tometchko. -0- TEACHER OF THE WEEK: Miss Deborah Wysocki is our sixth grade homeroom teacher who resides in Swoyersville. She attended Wilkes College and graduated from there with an MS Degree with a major in English. She is obtaining continuing education credits from Penn State in the communications field. Miss Wysocki enjoys sports, especially basketball and baseball and is coach of Barilla’s softball team. Members of the senior class of Lake-Lehman High School will be visiting Washington, D.C. as their annual class trip. The dates are May 10, 11, 12, 13. A variety of educational tours are planned including visitation to the Smithsonian Institute, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial, Mount Vernon, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, National Gal- lery of Art, Arlington National Cem- etery, The Pentagon, The Capitol Building, and the F.B.I. Building. The students will be enjoying an afternoon at the National Zoo and y/ an evening at the dinner theatre featuring ‘‘Once Upon a Mattress.” A pool and pizza party are aiso being included in the busy agenda. A variety of fund raisers have been sponsored by the senior class in order to defray the cost of the trip. Every senior was given the opportunity to earn money toward the expenses so that any student who wished to attend the trip would be able to do so. The students scored among the top 10th @f the more than 50,000 students who took the tests. They will be notified at a later date whether or not they were selected as finalists.
