Dallas netters
defeat Tigers
Dallas tennis team shut out the
Tunkhannock Tigers 7-0 to continue
undefeated in the Southern Division
of the Northeastern Pennsylvania
Conference last week. The win
moved the Mountaineers record to
Betts 6-1, 6-2. Dave Dillon defeated
Peacock 6-1, 6-0, and Dave Kistler
made it 6-1, 6-1 over Kalinowski.
Jack Albert shut out his opponent
Ungereit, 6-0, 6-0 and Brian Moore
overcame Zaleppa in 6-1, 6-0 wins.
Dillon and Albert paired together
to defeat Peacock and Morris 6-0, 6-
0 and Moore and Kistler blanked
their opponents Ungereit and
Zaleppa 6-0, 6-0.
Valley West won three of the four
singles matches against the Lake-
Lehman Knights to defeat Lake-
Lehman 4-2 before the rain shut out
the fifth match.
Spartan Wintrs defeated Buzinkai,
6-1, 6-4; Bob Moosic (LL) took
Landau, 6-2, 6-2; Valley Wst’s Tym-
czyn won 6-3, 6-3 over Keefer and
Knight Kozloski lost 6-4,6-2 to the
Spartans Ryneski. The match
between Lake-Lehman’s Lieb and
FEnnel was rained out.
Buzinkai and Moosic of Lake-
Lehman took Winters and Landau
10-8 but the Spartans Tymeczyn and
Ryneski defeated Thomas and Kapi-
tula 10-3.

Opening Day set
Opening Day for Harveys Lake
Little League and Teeners Organi-
zations will be held Saturday, May
4, at 10 a.m. at the fish commission
access area.
A parade will begin at the access
area ‘and continue to the little
league field. A T-ball exhibition
game will follow the parade.
