A Neighborhood Crime Watch won’t stop crime,” he says, “but it will move it to another area - one where no crime watch has been organized!” If you are interested in organizing a crime watch or would like more information, please call Elmer Bradshaw at 825-2218, your local police department or The Dallas Post. ~— JUDIE MATHERS (Continued from page 1) When asked if he recalled the conversation with ‘Mr. Bradshaw, Chief Lyons stated that it had been a very brief discussion and that he didn’t remember. what was said. We offered to let them use the Borough building for their meetings. It was up to the Weisses to contact ‘neighbors and set a date for a crime watch meet- ing. Apparently, they never did. Mr. ~ Weiss himself said he was too busy. It’s right there in the paper.” Chief Lyons then concluded, “I have no further comment until I discuss this with Jack Fowler.” why no one ever. got back to me; in fact, I was surprised no one did, It was my impression that the Weisses were going to contact neighbors, set a date, then let Mr. Fowler know. Production scheduled ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ is the 20th annual production of the annual Children’s Theatre presented by the Misericordia Players. A new upbeat version of the famil- iar folk tale by the Brothers Grim was adopted by director Walter C.J. Andersen, associate professor at Misericordia. “The original fairy tales are rather gruewsome,” said Andersen. “So I rewrite the stories to make them a combination of fun and fantasy.” In Andersen’s version, Little Red is wondering why life isn’t more exciting when Granny shows up in search of the Wolf, who has stolen her 10-speed bicycle. Granny, a karate expert who listens to Michael jackson, has no fear of the Big Bad Wolf. The wolf, who is Harvard edu- cated having written his thesis on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is a most unusual creature. He enjoys being evil but loves little children (on whole wheat toast). When Granny becomes ill, Little Red sets out through the woods to visit her. On the way she encounters a variety of forest creatures: Harry Bear, Bunny Rabbit, Cissy Chip- munk, Franny Fieldmouse, Sammy Skunk and of course, the Big Bad Wolf! Performances continue on April 26 at 7:30 p.m. and April 27 and 28 at 2 p.m. in Walsh Auditorium on the Dallas campus. Tickets are $2.50 for adults and $2 for the children.
