Nestled in the hilly regions of Northern Italy that ascend to the
heart of the rural province of Perugia, lies the tiny village of
Annafodi Foligno — a place where family recipes are as old and as
cherished as the view of the surrounding mountain ranges.
This was the home of Nonno (grandfather) Lini. Four generations
later, one can still savor the old world magic of traditional North
Italian fare at Nonno Lini’s in Wilkes-Barre, by way of Nonno Lini’s
great grandson, Richard and his chef (and wife), Mary Theresa.
For Mary Theresa, the preparation of fine food is a passion that has
been “in her blood” for as long as she can remember. Though
educated in business administration,Mary Theresa claims that
cooking has remained her first love. She trained under Peter
Macheska, a veteran chef with 30 years experience, and speaks
warmly of his expertise and patience.
