Participants are introduced to the basic principles of forest ecology and its application in land management situations. Through classroom and field exer- cises, students develop an aware- ness of the challenges faced by resource managers. Topics covered during the pro- gram include: tree identifica- tion,forest measurements, Multiple use of forests for timber, wildlife, and recreation; land use planning; career in natural resources. There will be three camp sessions at the following locations: July 16- 19, McKeever Environmental Learning Center, Mercer County. July 23-26, Stone Valley Civil Engi- neering Camp, Huntingdon County.
