Complete course Dallas Post/Ed Campbell The sixth grade girls of Team C of the Dallas Intermediate School have completed a Red Cross Babysitting Course. The course, which was taught at the Dallas Intermediate School, was completed in six ses- sions with a total of eight hours of instruction. It was given by Ms. Mary MacFarland, R.N. Red Cross Nursing and Home Health Director with the assist of Janice Borton, Sixth Grade Homeroom Teacher. The course included films, discus- sions, written assignments, demon- strations and a session of ‘“hands- on” with life sized dolls. Upon completion of the course a test was administered. The girls learned how to prevent accidents, what to do in an emergency, and how important they can be in the life of a child. They learned what job-hunting skills they need to get the job, how to do the job well and how to enjoy and learn from the experience. Award presented Dallas Post/Ed Campbell The Dallas Senior High School Student Council proudly presented the first annual Spirit Award to Mrs. Margaret Johnson, senior homeroom 32, for showing the most school spirit during Homecoming Week. Points accumulated for selling links for the spirit chain, football tickets, and painter hats were counted to determine the winning homeroom. Michael Shevock, Student Council Advisor, hopes to make this award a tradition at Dallas Senior High School. Homeroom 32 will display the plaque for one year then either retain or pass it on to another homeroom, during the next year’s Homecoming Week.
