Marc Elgaway
is promoted
Marc C. Elgaway has been pro-
moted to senior manager, market
development, for Commonwealth
Telephone Enterprises, Inc. Donald
P. Roskos, Commonwealth’s vice
president of marketing and business
development, said Elgaway will
identify and develop potential busi-
ness opportunities, create long
range business plans and monitor
industrial trends which impact the
communicaitons industry.
Elgaway joined Commonwealth in
1983 as operations manager for the
corporation’s telecommunications
supply group. He was one of 11
employees to receive the company’s
Pursuit of Excellence Award given
to recognize extraordinary achieve-
ments and unique contributions.
A graduate of West Point, Elga-
way was most recently employed by
W.R. Grace, New York, New York,
as part of a selective managers
training program. Prior to that
appointment, he was a company
commander in the Army Corps of
Engineers with assignments in the
United States and Europe.

Barre Board of Realtors where he
serves as Realtor-Associate Direc-
tor and Chairman of the Realtor-
Associate Committee. He currently
serves as a member of the Board of
Directors of the Pennsylvania Asso-
ciation of Realtors and as a
member of the Governmental Agen-
cies Liaison Committee for 1985. He
is a past member of the PAR
Education, Realtor-Associate, and
the Executive Committee.
He is a member of the Dallas

appointed member of Dallas Bor-

W.L. Sherin dies
Walter L. Sherin, of 38 E. Franks’
lin St., Shavertown, died Decembe
19 in Nesbitt Memorial Hospital
Kingston.

Surviving are his sons, Ralph, Hag-
erstown, Md.; Bernard, Shaver-
town; daughter, Mrs. Dolores
Arcangeli, Tunkhannock; 12 grand-
children; five great-grandchildren;
sister, Mrs. Stella Wroblewski,
Brooklyn, N.Y.
Funeral services were held from
the Joseph C. Betz Funeral Home,
Luzerne.
