Insurance rates
Pennsylvania’s new automobile
insurance law became effective
October 1, 1984. Some motorists
have already received new policies
and may be confused by the new
requirements. :
In some cases, it may appear that
premiums have gone up. In many
instances, this has nothing to do
with the new law. It may be
because your insurance company
recently asked for and received a
rate increase before the new law
took effect due to previously inade-
quate rates under the old no-fault
law.
Most of the companies in this
category are not a competitive force
in the auto insurance market and do
not have competitive rates.
