The Dallas Junior High School
Music Department will present a
program of holiday music Thursday
evening, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the
junior high auditorium.
The band, directed by David C.
Benn, will present Part One of the
program. Some songs are ‘‘Christ-
mas Songs of Praise,” “What Child
Is This?” and “Have Yourself a
Merry Little Christmas.”

Friday, Dec. 7, at noon at St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church, Shavertown.

in the senior high school
The Dallas Senior High School
Chorus, directed by Mrs. Florence
Hughes Sherwood, will present a
Christmas Concert on Sunday, Dec.
9 at 3 p.m. in the senior high school
auditorium.
A variety of all types of music
will be included, beginning with
“Singl Glkoria Excelsis Deo.”” Chan-
sonaires will use sign languate for
“A Babe is Born.” A trio of sopho-
more, junior and senior girls will
sing Praetorius’ ‘Lo How a Rose er
Blooming’, ‘Oh Listen to the
Angels Sing,” will feature a flute
duet, bells and bass guitar.
Victor Liva will play violin for “A
Feast of Lights” and “Come to the
Stable” as well as a solo by Pagan-
ini. Selected second grade students
will add their voices to the concert.
“The Russian Sleigh’ adds a bit of
zest while ‘‘Sign of the Dove,”
“Christmas Is,” and “It’s Beginning
to Look Like Christmas” make up
the popular side.
“For Unto Us a Child is Born”
and Handel’s “Joy to the World”
with brass ensemble concludes the
Lamoreux, Katie McKeown, Caro-
lyn Fagan, Lisa Bealla, Heather
Hand and Nancy Boedecker. Mat-
thew Hoidra, guest alumnist, will
play drums and GAry Hoskins, a
junior, will play bass guitar.
