Gerard Musto, Superintendent of the Pittston Area School District, received the “Employer of the Year Award” on behalf of the school district and board of directors for hiring persons who are handicapped as employees of the school district. Mr. Musto, began working with special education students as a psy- chologist for the school district and director of0curriculum and instruc- tion. Balloonist Lake-Noxen The faculty and students of Lake- Noxen Elementary School were nationally famous balloonist, on November 9. For part of the program, Mr. Sparks presented a slide show and led a question and answer discus- sion about ballooning. The remain- der of the program consisted of an enjoyable demonstration using hot air balloons. Mr. Sparks showed amazing resourcefulness by inflat- ing an ordinary garbage bag and This program was provided by the Lake-Noxen PTA with funds earned through the cooperation of the stu- dents, teachers and parents in their recent selling project.
