MARY RUCKNO SIEGEL Two new appointments were recently made to College Misericor- dia’s Admissions staff. Mary Ruckno Siegel, of Forty Fort and Martha Hession, of Dallas, will serve as assistant to the dean of admissions and admission’s counse- lor, respectively. The announcement was made by David M. Payne, dean of admissions at Misericordia. Mary Siegel has been employed with the college since 1982 as a counselor in the college’s Act 101 program. Her new postion entails assuming the responsibilities of the dean in his absence, scheduling all high school and college night pro- grams, local visitations, counseling and interviewing prospective appli- cants. Ms. Siegel holds a master’s degree in education psychology from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor’s degree in psychol- ogy from Marquette. She is a member of the American Personnel Guidance Association, Wisconsin Association of Guidance Counselors and Milwaukee Area Guidance Counselors. Martha Hession, a recent gradu- ate of Kutztown University, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, will represent the college at confer- ences, college nights, and high school visitations and interview stu- . dent applicants interested in attend- ing the Callas co-educational institu- tion, Ms. Hession was a psychology tutor at Kutztown University and worked in conjunction with the Abil- ity Developmental Program. Following a two week wedding trip to Acapulco, Puerto Valarta and Cancun, Mexico, the Ackoureys are residing in Scranton. Teens sought S.M. Lake, State Coordinator of the 1985 USA Teen Miss of Penn. Scholarship Pageant, today announced that contestants are now being accepted to represent the county in the official Penn. State Pageant to be held in Harrisburg on Sunday, March 24, at the Marriott Hotel. To qualify, the teen miss must be a student in grades seven through 12, of a charismatic leadership qual- ity personality, a resident of the county in which she is applying and a U.S. citizen. The accepted area teens will com- pete with other area finalists in communications, evening gown and interview competitions for the state title and crown of Pa. Teen Miss, plus, a $1,000 cash scholarship award. Each of the 10 semi-finalists will receive a self-study modeling course and numerous trophies will be awarded. Each of the accepted teens will receive a tiara and sash, and will officially represent the pageant in local activities through- out their year reign.
