At Gate of Heaven
By JOAN KINGSBURY
Staff Correspondent
Gate of Heaven Pro-Life Commit-
tee recently held a pro-life program
featuring Betty Caffrey, president,
Wyoming Valley Chapter, Pennsyl-
vanians for Human Life.
The film “A Matter of Choice”
was shown. This film deals with a
newspaper reporter's investigation
o the business of abortion, showing
the emotional aspects of this issue.
It presents the opinions of doctors,
an abortionist and a former abor-
tionist and discusses the abortion
question with those who have had
an abortion and those who chose not
to, but have either kept their babies
or put them up for adoption.
Following the film, Mrs. Caffrey
explained the work done by Penn-
sylvanians for Human Life. A non-
profit, non-denominational educa-
tional organization, Pennsylvanians
for Human Life provides moral and
emotional support for those needing
ers with a layette, crib, playpen,
anything she would need to insure a
good start for her baby.
Operated solely by volunteers,
Pennsylvanians for Human Life has
several films and slide presenta-
tions available free of charge to
those interested. In addition to ‘A
Matter of Choice”, ‘‘Assignment:
Life” and “Slippery Slope,” a film
dealing with infanticide and euthan-
asia are available. Slide presenta-
tions include ‘The Springtime of
Your Life” a film for the modern
teenager, ‘How Babies Grow’ for
ages 4 through 12 which deals with
how a baby grows but not with
abortion, ‘Let Me Live” a slide
presentation produced by Pat Boone
and “A Critical Look at Planned
Parenthood’.
Mrs. Caffrey encouraged pro-life
advocates to educate themselves
concerning the abortion issue, alter-
natives to abortion and to support
life in all its aspects.

vanians for Human Life at 826-1819.
