Sister M. Cephas Rowley, 94, died
Aug. 26 in Mercy Center Convent,
Dallas. !
Surviving are several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral will be held Wednesday
at 11 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament
Chapel, Mercy Center, Dallas.
Interment will be in St. Mary's
Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Arrangements are by McLaughlin

HEDWIG SHABELSKI
Mrs. Hedwig S. Shabelski, of Cliff-
side Avenue, Trucksville, died Aug.
26 at home.
Surviving are her husband, John;
sons, John Jr., of Wilkes-Barre;
Joseph, of Vienna, Va.; Gerald,
Plymouth; James, Hyattsville, Md.;
daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Augus-
tine, Trucksville; sisters, Mrs. Flor-
ence Makowski and Mrs. irene
Blaso, both of Kingston; Mrs. Elea-
nor DeGiacomo, Swoyersville;
brothers, Edward Poplawski, Beth-
lehem; Benjamin Poplawski, Court-
dale; Raymond Poplaski, Edwards-
ville; six grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Wednesday,
Aug. 29 at 8:30 a.m. from the
Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey
Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of
Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St.
Hedwig's Church. Interment will be
in Memorial Shrine Cemetery,
Carverton.
RALPH BROWN
Ralph W. Brown, 87, of 130 Par-
rish St., Dallas, died Aug. 23 in
Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kings-
ton, where he had been a patient for
four days.
Surviving are a son, Warren,
Horseheads, N.Y.; foster sons,
Robert Gould, Buffalo, N.Y.; Albert
Gould, Novato, Calif.; Jay Gould,
Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Burton,
Wyoming; four grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dorothy A. Pollock, 67, of
Evergreen Estates, Sweet Valley,
died Aug. 24 at the home of her
sister, Mrs. Edith Traver of Noxen.
Surviving, besides her sister, are
a son, Donald R., Bowie, Md.;
another sister, Mrs. Myrtle Wilson,
Valley Crest, Wilkes-Barre; two
grandchildren.

Leamon 0. Mintzer, 70, of Alder-
son Road, Harveys Lake, died Aug.
23 at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre,
where he had been a patient for one
day.
Surviving are his wife, the former
Elizabeth Cole; sons, Lee V.,
Dallas; Fred, Shrub Oak, N.Y;
sister, Mrs. Charlotte Davis, St.
Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchil-
dren.

The Pennsylvania Governor's
Energy Council will present a spe-
cial energy saving award to John
and Betsy Hibbard at cermonies to
be held on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 11
a.m. at Firewood Farms, Kingston
Township.

Back Mountain School has been
established to make dance more
accessable to the Back Mountain
Community. ‘“‘Many people in our
community are interested in dance
training for themselves and their
children, but their schedules make
it difficult to make the trip to
Wilkes-Barre. We are making it
easier to experience the enjoyment
of dance by brining the classes to
the community.’
