Queen crowned ‘The Lakeview Terrace Dock Association of Harveys Lake is working in conjunction with the Harveys Lake Homecoming Fes- tival by sponsoring the Little Miss Harveys. Lake Contest. The annual Homecoming Festival will be held on June 16 and 17. Gloria Evans, chairman for the event, announces that applica- tions will be accepted at the Harveys Lake Municipal Build- ing, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Eligibility requirements for the ‘event are: Girls must be between 5 and 12 years of age, must be year round resident ‘of Harveys Lake Borough, no talen perform- ance-winner will be selected on the basis of a personality inter- view. Judging for the contest will be prior to the crowning which will take place at the Awards Pro- gram at 3 p.m. at Sandy Bottom Beach. Check presented Fireworks to be featured both nights With a festive feeling in the air, on June 16 and 17 at Harveys Lake the Harveys Lake Homecoming Festival Committee announces that both Saturday and Sunday’s Pro- gram Schedule will conclude with a Firework Display. On Saturday, the Fireworks will be held at the Sunset Beach Area. They will be sponsored by the Har- veys Lake Homecoming Festival Committee in cooperation with the Luzerne County Recreation, the Grotto, and Bill’s Cafe. On Sunday, the grand finale will close at Hanson’s Park, with the fireworks being sponsored by Hanson’s and the Harveys Lake Lions Club. Antique cars will be seen during parade Antique and classic cars, as well as the motorcycle unit from the Irem Temple Corps will take part in the 1984 Harveys Lake Homecoming Festival Parade. The D.C. Roberts Fire Co. will sponsor the vehicular parade, Chris DeLeur, chairman announced that the parade will be held on Sunday, June 17. Participants will form between Sandy Bottom and Lake Noxen School at 12:30 p.m. Entry forms may be obtained at local businesses or by contacting Mr. DeLeur at 639-2468. Trophies will be presented at the Homecoming Awards Program at 3 p.m. at the Grotto Marina. The D.C. Roberts Fire Co. also extends an invitation to the public to attend their open house at the Fire Co. from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 16. Art and Photo show planned Once again the 1984 Harveys Lake Homecoming Festival, June 16 and 17 promises a weekend filled with excitement.
