Seniors honored Dallas Post/Charlot M. Denmon Jim O'Connell and Jill Graham, Dallas High School seniors, were two of nine students from four schools in the Valley Automobile Club (AAA) area selected as award winners in the American Automo- bile Associations’s 40th Annual School Traffic Safety Poster compe- tition. The local club had 462 entries CHARLOTTE SLOCUM Slocum named to Who’s Who Charlotte Slocum, RN, director of Student Health Services at College Misericordia, was recently informed that her biography will appear in the 1983-84 edition of Who's Who in American Nursing. Mrs. Slocum is a graduate of College Misericordia with a Bache- lor of Science in Nursing, a Bache- lor of Arts in Sociology and certifi- cation in School Nursing. She is currently completing a double master’s degree in Nursing Admin- istration. A member of Misericordia’s Nurs- ing Society, Mrs. Slocum is also the class of 1985 advisor, coordinator of bloodmobile drives at the college and coaches the College’s softball team. In community activities, she is a member of the Lake-Lehman Band Association, the Lake-Lehman Booster Club, president of the Lake- Lehman Wrestling Mothers Associa- tion and is serving her 14th year with the Back Mountain Baseball Association. She is the recipient of a five year service award from the American Red Cross Association, is a member of Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities, 1980, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Col- lege Health Nursing Association. Mrs. Slocum lives in Lehman with her husband Ernest. They have four children. Mark Rosing of Dallas has been named national finalist in the Schol- arship Competition sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers Education Foundation. Mr. Rosing is the Pennsylvania Candidate for NSPE’s Carnegie- Mellon University Scholarship. | The son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rosing of Dallas, Rosing is a senior at Dallas Area High School where he is Editor in Chief of the Year- book, in charge of the photography darkroom for the school yearbook and newspaper, and a member of the Drama Club. An Eagle Scout with the Boys Scouts of America, he is a member of the National Honor Society and was named to Who's Who in Ameri- can High Schools in both his junior and senior years. PSU grad wins Terry Spence of Montrose, a 20- year-old physics major, has brought unprecedented honor to Penn State Wilkes-Barre by being named the recipient of three system-wide Uni- versity awards. While at the Wilkes-Barre campus of Penn State, Spence has excelled academically and athletically. He has maintained a 3.84 grade point average while participating for two years in soccer and volleyball.
