“TIPPY" SANTEE, 156 Simpson
St., Swoyersville will celebrate
their 45th wedding’ anniversary
Saturday. They were married on
Feb. 11, 1939 at Holy Name of
Jesus Church in Swoyersville by
Mrs. Santee is the former Florence
Innamorati of Swoyersville. Mr.
Santee is also a Swoyersville
native.
Their attendants were Flora
Innamorati Bednarick of N.Y., a
twin sister of Mrs. Santee and
‘Albert Santee, deceased.
The Santees are the parents of
three children, Mrs. Catherine
Contento, Mrs. Lynda Matysik and
Francis of Swoyersville. They also
have three grandchildren, Lee,
Beau and Debbie Matysik.
Mr. Santee is retired from
Sordoni Construction Co. of Forty
for many years along with being
an executive officer of Union Local
1319. He also served as councilman
for three terms.

MR. AND MRS. JOHN PEPAS
of 16 McHale St., Swoyersville will
celebrate their 11th wedding an-
niversary on Tuesday. They were
married on Feb. 14, 1973. Mrs.
Pepas is the former Dolores
Savage of Pittston. Mr. Pepas is
formerly of West Pittston.
They are the parents of a son, a
student at Sacred Heart School in
Luzerne.
Mr. Pepas is associated with
Mrs. Pepas is employed with
Leslie Fay, “Kingston Fashions.”

MR. AND MRS. EDWARD
MAKAVAGE of 48 Owen Street,
Forty Fort, will celebrate their
31st wedding anniversary
Tuesday. They were married on
Feb. 14, 1953 at St. Mary’s Church
in Swoyersville by Rev. John
Masakowski. Mrs. Mackavage is
formerly from Forty Fort. Mr.
Mackavage is a Plains native.
- Their attendants were Helen
Monahan Dylewski, deceased;
Leonard Wojcik, Plymouth, Leona
Sekerak and Gene Shipula.
The Mackavages are the parents
of two children, Mrs. Terriann
Kovalski of Havertown, Pa. and
Edward Jr., of Bethlehem.
Mr. Mackavage is associated
with the Citizen’s Voice in
Plymouth. Mrs. Mackavage is
employed with the Unemployment
Office in Pittston.

Miss Jolley was installed by her
father, Carl L. Jolley, currently
Senior Warden of King David
Lodge, 763, Free and Accepted
Masons, in Kingston. Among the
activitries planned during the
January to May term are visiting
the guests at The Meadows Nur-
sing Home in Dallas and volun
several councilmen were in at-
tendance. Councilmen attending
were James Pugh and Edmund
Gonglefski of the Second Ward and
John Butchko of the First Ward.

several of their friends at a Super
Bowl Party held at the home of Joe
and Johanna Gula of Frederick
St., Swoyersville.
The men were treated to a pot of
delicious clam chowder prepared
by Pete Cwalina Sr., hamburgers
in sauce prepared by Mrs. Helen
Gaydos, along with the trimmings
and hard shells from Baron’s
Seafood along with the finest of
beverages.
The Swoyersville Little League
will conduct registration for the
1984 baseball season on Friday,
Feb. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.; Saturday,
Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon;
and Monday, Feb. 27 from 6 to 8
p.m. in the borough building on
Main Street.
Any boy who will attain the age
of eight years before August 1 and
scheduled
who will not reach the age of 13
years before August 1 is eligible to
play.
All players must be ac-
companied by a parent-guardian
and those registering for the first
time must present their birth
certificate. There is a $5
registration fee per family.
Everything was great until the
game started, and when the
Raiders began to pile it up, the
Skins fans such as Cutter, Bob
Gaydos, Tom Cruthers, Ron Gula,
Pete Cwalina Jr., Wayne Terry,
were speechless and didn’t say a
word for the rest of the night, in
fact after the beginning of the
second half, they didn’t watch TV.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Romanoski of 338 Shoemaker St.,
Swoyersville will celebrate their
50th wedding anniversary Friday.
They were married on Feb. 10,
1934 at St. Mary’s Church in
Swoyersville by the late Rev.
Joseph Buda. Mrs. Romanoski is
the former Edna Wroblewski of
Swoyersville. Mr. Romanoski is
also a Swoyersville native.

Mary’s Church, Swoyersville. A
reception will follow at Holy
Trinity Church Hall on Hughes St.,
Swoyersville, given by their
children.
The Public Utility Commission
has scheduled another public input
hearing, Feb. 21 in the Pittston
area, in its investigation into
contamination of Pennsylvania
Gas & Water Co.'s Spring Brook
Reservoir.
Administrative Law Judge
Edward R. Casey will hold the 7
p.m. session in the auditorium of
Pittston Area High School, 5 Stout
St., Yatesville.
The commission earlier this
week announced it will hold a
hearing next Tuesday, Feb. 7 at
Wilkes-Barre. That session will be
at 7 p.m. in the Scandlon Physical
Education Center of King’s
College on N. Main St.
Evidentiary hearings will follow,
but dates and locations have not
yet been set.
In the proceeding, the PUC is
considering the propriety of rate
adjustments and refunds to
customers served from the
reservoir, fines and the possibility
of ordering improvements to
company facilities.
