The Luzerne County District Nurses Association discussed the impact of the prospective payment system on professional nursing at the January meeting held at Genetti’s, Route 309, Hazleton. M. Christine Alichnie, Mountaintop, Bloomsburg University, and Dr. Sheila Pringle, Dallas, chairman of the Nursing Department at College Misericordia, led the discussion which highlighted the sweeping changes in Medicare reimbursement with resultant changes in the delivery of nursing care. The speakers were introduced by Mary Ann Saueraker, Hazleton, program chairman, ‘and the business meeting was conducted by the president, Alexander, Kingston. Northeast Pennsylvania Development Company, in con- junction with the Greater Wilkes- Barre Industrial Fund, Inc., is now accepting applications from small businesses for long-term fixed asset financing. The ‘average life” of the assets required must equal 15 years with 503 financing terms up to 25 years.
