The Committee for Economic Growth
will hold its second ‘Community Growth
Conference” Feb. 1 at 6:30 p.m. in
Kingston. (See chart on page 2).
A number of subjects pertaining to the
economy of the Wyoming Valley will be
discussed based on information gathered
by the committee’s Planning Task Force.
This information will be utilized in the-
preparation of a long-term marketing plan
designed to identify specific industries and
businesses that would most likely benefit
from our area’s strengths by locating in
the valley.
The plan will also set forth a method of
implementing a marketing strategy to
reach and attract industries.
Frederick Hartwigsen is chairman of
the planning task force, made up of over
400 volunteers working in 30 different
evaluate the valley’s economic charac-
teristics in terms of strengths and
weaknesses. 5
The initial CEG community growth
conference was held at Meyers High
School on Jan. 24.
