A “WOMEN OF DIVORCE”
PROGRAM will be sponsored by
Family Service Association, a
United Way Agency, as part of their
Family Life Education Series. The
sessions will be held on four consec-
utive Wednesdays beginning on Jan.
25, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the
Family Life Building, Rear 73 W.
Union St., Wilkes-Barre.
Conducted by Elyse Gold, the
program will include, What Does
Separation Involve?, Legal Issues,
Financial Concerns, and Children
Transition. “Women of Divorce” is
a resource program which provides
emotional support and survival
skills to women who are separated,
divoirced, or seriously considering
either one.
Pre-registration is recommended,
women who wish to participate
should call Family Service Associa-
tion at 823-5144.
Classes
COMPLETE OBSTETRICAL
SERVICES are currently being
offered to area residents as part of
Nesbitt Memorial Hospital's
Mother-To-Be Program conducted
each Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the
Medical Arts Building, 534 Wyoming
Ave., Kingston.
The program is designed to pro-
vide quality health care for both
mother and baby regardless of one’s
ability to pay. For patients without
adequate insurance coverage, a
comprehensive fee covers regular
physician directed care, complete
obstetrical services and all other

blood work and ultrasound proce-
dures. Couples also participate in
Nesbitt Hospital's free prenatal edu-
cation pregram. The eight-week
course furnishes important informa-
tion on natural childbirth techniques
and care of the newborn.

WESTMORELAND PTO is spon-
soring jazzersize classes on Tuesday
and Thursday evenings in the school
Social held
cafeteria. Instructor is Karen
Arnaud. Cost per class sessions are
$12 for eight weeks; $20 for 16
sessions.
The next session begins January
24 at 8 p.m. The public is invited to
attend.

THE MIDWAY MANOR TAX-
PAYERS ASSOCIATION INC. will
meet on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 7:30

Municipal Building, Carverton

MACEUTICAL ASSOCIATION,
INC. will hold its regular monthly
meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at
9:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, Route
315, Wilkes-Barre.
In conjunction with a sponsorship
from Squibb-Novo Pharmaceuticals,
an ongoing education seminar will
be provided. Dr. John Mellows,
Pharm.D., a diabetic specialist with
E.R. Squibb-Novo Co. will be the
guest speaker. His topic will deal
with new, innovative research
developments within the diabetic
field, both control and treatment,
including a discussion of the
recently introduced human insulins.
All area pharmacists and phar-
macy concerns are invited to attend
this meeting. Refreshments will be
served.
DALLAS WOMEN OF KIWANIS
will meet at the Castle Inn, on
Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
Installation of new officers will be
held. Incoming officers are presi-
dent, Pauline Selingo; first vice
president, Ann Corbett; 2nd vice
president Mabel Harter; secretary,
Shirley Moore; treasurer, Sybil
Bernie Lindquist.
Outgoing president is Sally Rob-
erts. All committee chairpersons
are asked to bring in their final
reports.
VETERANS OF THE VIETNAM
WAR POST 2, will meet Thursday,
Jan. 26 at 8 p.m., at the Coral
Lounge, 245 Owen St., Swoyersville.
Nomination of officers will be
held.
The Veterans of the Vietnam War,
is a full service organization open to

THE JANUARY MEETING of the
Bob Horlacher Memorial League
will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, at 7
p.m. in the Centermoreland Fire

Noxen, will hold an Old-Fashioned
Vegetable and Beef Soup sale on
Saturday, Jan. 28, at the parish hall,
Main St., Noxen. Orders must be in
by Jan. 26.
Soup will sell for $1.25 per quart
and customers must provide their
own containers for takeouts. The
ladies will also sell homemade
bread for $1.25 a loaf and rolls for
$1.25 a dozen.
Lunch will be served between the
hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Orders
must be picked up at the hall during
those hours as no deliveries will be
made.

Center. Exams will be given in the

THE MUSIC BOX DINNER
PLAYHOUSE, 196 Hughes St,
Swoyersville, will open its 1984
season with a five week run of
Rodgers' and Hammerstein's clas-
sic, “The Sound of Music.” The
show will begin on Friday, Feb. 3
and run Thursday through Sunday
performances for five weeks until
March 14.

$18.50, with a Super Sunday Saver
