Many local service clubs .have donated various items during this holiday season. Dallas Kiwanis a Club - donated a tree to the Mead- ows Nursing Center for the enjoyment of patients and staff. The Back Mountain Jay cees donated a num the Meadows Nursing residents. Mrs. Sarah williams and Mrs. Bernice Rhone initiated a project last year to assist families in the Back Mountain Area who were in dire need of food due to prolonged unemployment or single parent situ- ations with financial problems. Lim- Meadows Apartments, Dallas, 400 cans of vegetables, fruits and meats were collected. All food collected is distributed through representatives of the Dallas Kiwanis, Gate of Heaven Church, and the Dallas School Dis- trict. This project continued throughout [1983 and has now expanded to include cash donations as well as food. -0- MR. AND MRS. DAVID G. NORRIS, 137 Woodbine Road, Midway Manor, Shavertown announce the birth of their second child, Laura Elizabeth, on Dec. 14. The couple has a son, David Morgan, two years old. Mrs. Norris is the former Jane Jones, daughter of Mrs. Armit Jones, 26 S. Meade St., Wilkes- Barre and the late Armit Jones. Mr. Norris is the son of Mrs. David Norris, 250 First Ave., Kings- ton, and the late David Norris. Congratulations to the Norris’ and their new little girl. -0- THE HARVEYS LAKE YACHT CLUB’S ANNUAL COMMODORE BALL was held recently at the Westmoreland Club. This event honors past commodores of the club and welcomes the commodore for the coming season. Following a sumptuous buffet supper, guests danced to the tradi- tional music of Lee Vincent’s orchestra. The highlight of the ball is the “Passing of the Hat” ceremony marking the change in leadership of the Yacht Club. Dr. Karl Arbogast is commodore for 1984. 575-0835 BEST WISHES TO MR. AND MRS.
