recently reaccredited by the Penn- ;
sylvania Department of Education,
Bureau of Teacher Education
(PDE).
PDE offical Dr. Peggy Stonk
informed the College of its five-year -
full program approval, the maxi-
mum reaccreditation allowed by the
State. The action allows Misericor-
dia to continue teaching and certify-
ing teachers in Elementary and
Early Childhood education, Special
Education, Music Education and
School Nursing.
The 10-member PDE te. visited
the College to review the curricu-
lum, faculty and resources.
Joseph Rogan, Ed.D., is chairman
of the Division of Education; John
Mullany, Ed.S, is the Elementary-
Early Childhood Education program
director.
Vets collect toys
The Veterans Club at Penn State Wilkes-Barre is sponsoring
the annual Toys for Tots campaign in conjunction with the
U.S. Marines Corps Training Center in Wyoming. New and
good-as-new unwrapped toys and games, which will be
distributed to local needy children, can be placed in the
collection boxes located in the Student Commons Building
or in Hayfield House on the Lehman campus until Dec. 19.

dent from Barcelona, Spain, has
been attending classes at College
Misericordia since September.
An English Philology major in her
third year of study at Central Uni-
versity in Barcelona, Elizabeth
observes classes to gain experience
in literary and language studies.
She is visiting the United States
with her father.

Ms. Kavanaugh will take a full
course load at Richmond, including
Sociology of Education, Groups in
Society, Abnormal Psychology, a
Performance Arts Workshop and
Experiments in Studio Art.
Ms. Kavanaugh will attend the
international four-year liberal arts
college under the auspices of the
American Institute of Foreign
- Study.
She is looking forward to the
experience of studying at Rich-
mond, saying ‘I feel that a program
of studying abroad will increase my
knowledge and broaden my life. I
am very interested in exploring
other educational perspectives.”

Jim and Joan Thomas of Big Bass
