The award-winning Lake-Lehman
High School Band directed by John
A Miliauskas finished an outstanding
competition season with 30 first
place trophies and one second place
in nine competitions.
In addition to First In Class
awards, they received outstanding
award presentations for Best Music,
Best Band Front, Best Marching
and Maneuvering, Best Drum Major
; and Best Overall Band.
With a score of 84.75 at the
Chapter VII finals, they were

compete in the Atlantic Coast
Championships in Langhorne, Pa.
Here, they won second place with a
socre of 87.55 with first place going
to Hammonton, New Jersey. This
win gave them the distinction of
being the best Pennsylvania band in
the contest.

Atlantic Coast Championships as a
result of winning their division
finals were Elkton, Md., Penns
Grove, N.J., Bedford, Pa., Pennsau-
ken, N.J., Lakewood, N.J., Lewis-
ton, Pa., Clearview, N.J., Hanover
Area, Pa., Bishop McDevitt (Harris-
burg), Pa., Plymouth-Whitemarsh,
Pa., Greencastle, Pa. Linwood,

MONDAY - Chili dog or plain hot
dog on bun, or toasted cheese sand-

Holiday dance set
The Penn State Club of Wyoming Valley will hold its annual Christmas semi-formal dinner dance
at the Westmoreland Club on Saturday, Dec. 10. A cocktail hour at 6:30 will precede the buffet
dinner. The “Joe I'” band will provide dance music later in the evening. Alumni and friends of
Penn State are welcome. Members of the planning committee are Mr. and Mrs. William J.
Carroll, Mr. and Leonard Motzkie, David Grimes, Armand Casterline, Jay Karnofsky, Dr. James
