once again selling Xmas Sand Can-

11 and 18 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and
Wednesdays Dec. 7, 14, and 21 from
6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Candles will also be available at
Besecker Realty during the day
starting Dec. 5 and the Dallas Bor-
ough Building Thursdays starting
Dec. 1 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Candles will sell for $2.00 a dozen.

THE DALLAS CHAPTER OF
AMERICAN FIELD SERVICE is
conducting a book sale now through
December.
A large coffee table-style book,
entitled” “The Wyoming Valley: An
American Portrait,” is being
offered for sale. It is a complete
history of the Wyoming Valley by
King’s College professor Dr. E.F.
Hanlon.
Orders may be placed by calling
2069. Price is $24.95.
The trip will include tours of the
United Nations and the Stock
Exchange on Wall Street, plus free
time for holiday shopping. Reserva-
tions will be taken on a first serve
basis and must be made by Nov. 23.

Meetings
THE JACKSON TOWNSHIP VOL-
UNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT,
will conduct its regular meeting on
Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 7 p.m. at the
Township fire hall. This meeting
replaces the originally scheduled
meeting of Nov. 16.
All members are urged to be in
attendance for this meeting. A
social hour will follow with refresh-
ments served.
WILKES-BARRE GENERAL
HOSPITAL'S VOLUNTEER SERV-
ICES DEPARTMENT will hold a
babysitting seminar for girls 13
years and older from noon to 4 p.m.
on Monday, Nov. 28. Most area
schools will not have classes that
day, because of the scheduled
Thanksgiving holiday.
The seminar agenda will feature
instructors from General’s Depart-
ment of Education and security
guards from the Safety and Security
Department. Discussion will include
first aid for emergencies, basic care
of small children, fire safety and
personal safety. Participants will
receive a certificate upon comple-
tion of the afternoon session. Enroll-
ment is limited to 25 participants.
Interested individuals are asked
to register by calling General’s Vol-
unteer Services Department.
A SQUARE DANCE will be held
Saturday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. at the
Northmoreland Township Volunteer
Fire Company Fire Hall in Center-
moreland.
Red Jones will be the caller.
Music will be provided by ‘The
Polka Dukes.”
THE WYOMING VALLEY CHAP-
TER, AMERICAN RED CROSS has
scheduled an Advanced First Aid
Instructor Course. The class will
meet on Nov. 30, Dec. 5, 8, 12, and
14, from 7 to 10 p.m. af the Chapter.
This class is for anyone holding a
current Advanced First Aid certifi-
cate or EMT who would like to
teach Red Cross First Aid.
