Parents learn about drug program
The Lake-Lehman School District
will present an orientation and over-
view program concerning ‘‘Here’s
Looking at You - Two”, a drug and
alcohol program featured in the
schools.
The orientation program, which
grew out of a request from mem-
bers of the Junior High School PTA
to familiarize parents with the pro-
gram, will be held Wednesday, Nov.
30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lake-Lehman
High School Library.
Conducting the program will be
Maryann Blessner, Debra Phillips,
guidance counselors at the elemen-
tary level; and Wilma Schierer,
junior high school health teacher.
The three will explain the pro-
gram and its objectives to parents
in an: attempt to spark discussions
between the parent and the child.
They will discuss the four aspects of
the program - information, self-
esteem, coping and decision- s
making. Following the discussion, a
question and answer period will be
conducted as parents will be encour-
aged to make an assessment of
additional steps that can be taken.
