Veras, of Shaver- town, will serve as Wilkes-Barre area chairman for Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic’s 1983- 84 Annual Campaign, according to Msgr. Andrew J. McGowan, presi- dent of the orchestra board. Mrs. Veras, who is a graduate of New York University and studied at the New York School of Design, has been an active orchestra volunteer for some time. Recording secretary of the Phil- harmonic’s board, she has partici- pated in several previous annual campaigns and ticket campaigns. She and her husband have two daughters, Daphne, a student at Dickinson College School of Law, and Cindy, a student at Lehigh University. They were married on Oct. 17, 1925, in Bridge- port, N.Y., by the Rev. Charles Hess. Rev. Mr. Hess served as principal at the old Beaumont High School before entering the ministry. Mrs. Crispell is the former Helen {Traver, daughter of the late Frank land Bertha Traver of Noxen. | ‘Mr. Crispell, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Crispell, is a charter member of the Bowmans Creek Lions Club and has been affairs in the Noxen area. He oper- ated a garage and service station in Noxen prior to his retirement. Mr. and Mrs. Crispell are the parents of four children, Dr. Earl Crispell, San Francisco, Calif.; Elvin, Delavan, Wis.; Mrs. Thomas Bean, Noxen and Frank Edwin Cris- pell, Noxen. Born in Berwick in 1894, Mrs. Shiner is the daurhter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Gough. Her husband, the late Miner Shiner, passed away in 1972. For years prior to his death, the Shiners operated restaurants in Luz- erne and Wyoming. Mrs. Shiner is in excellent health and is an active member of the Luzerne Assembly of God Church.
