Residents who object to the zoning changes were allowed to give testi- mony so that they will not have to appear when the meeting is recon- vened. Lehman band wins The Lake-Lehman High School Band won top overall honors Oct. 9 in the annual band festival spon- sored by the Luzerne County Chap- ter of the National Arthritis Founda- tion. The Lehman band placed first in Group Three bands with 66 to 85 players while Dallas High School came in first in Group Two bands with 46 to 65 players. Loyalsock Township High School came in first than 45 players. Dallas was also awarded for music and band front in Group Two and in the majorette category while Lake-Lehman was awarded for music and band front in Group Three. Police chief resigns The Lehman Township supervi- sors accepted the resignation of Police Chief William Goodwin at its meeting on Oct. 10. Goodwin, who was a member of the Lehman Township Police Department for nine years, served as chief for four years. Goodwin’s resignation is effective January 1, 1984.
