“Our offense controlled the game
for most of the first half but the
Patriots were too big and too many
in numbers for our Kids,” said
Dallas High School Coach Ron
Rybak. :
from them and could have had two
more scores but we fumbled the ball
both times. They had the game
before the first half was over and
went ok to win 31-13.
“I can’t say our offenseive play-
ers didn’t play well; they did and
Mike Borton was outstanding. He's
a tough kid. Our defense stopped the
Patriots from running, but couldn’t
stop the passing. Pittston’s size and
numbers overwhelmed us.
“With Valley West this Friday
night, we’ll have to go back to
basics and make some changes in
our defense, specially since we have
some kids out with injuries. We
have our work cut out for us.”
With a 28-7 lead, the Pittston
Patriots continued to play with their
first string varsity and used an
onsides kick and a field goal late in
the fourth quarter to trounce the
Dallas Mountainees, 31-13.
In the opening minutes of the
fourth quarter, Pittston quarterback
Nick Biscontini took a 15-yard
keeper around the right side to
score his second touchdown of the
day and put his team in front 28-7.
The onsides kick occurred on the
next play when Biscontini hit one
that went .high in the air and Jeff
Kramer recovered it at the Dallas
46.
Patriot quarterback Gene
McNulty came in and led the
Patriots down to the nine yard line.
Biscontini came in the game when
the drive stalled there and kicked a
26-yard field goal making the score
31-7 for Pittston with only eight and.
