host a dinner dance on Saturday,
Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Harveys
Lake Pub, formerly the Harveys
Lake Hotel.

met, the libraries will not qualify
for state aid. All libraries need
additional staff and volumes. All

Assumpta Council K of C 3987 on
Saturday evening, Oct. 10, at the
Council Home on Main St., Luzerne.
This will be held in conjunction with
the Annual Columbus Dinner-Dance.

Grand Knight and, for his untiring

council members. Grozalis is mar-

rewarding will be held in Wilkes-
Barre.
The nationally acclaimed author
and lecturer, Adele Faber, will
present “How to Talk So Kids Will
Listen and Listen So Kids Will
Talk” in a lecture Monday, Oct. 17,
at 8 p.m. at the Dorothy Dickson
Darte Center for the Performing
Arts at Wilkes College.
The session will cover ways to
reduce everyday tensions between
adults and children and improve
relationships. This talk is free and
open to the public.

Society starts
volunteer drive
The Wyoming Historical and Geo-
logical Society is announcing the
start of its third annual volunteer
drive.
The Society is interested in train-
ing individuals to assist its staff in
the preservation and presentation of
the cultural heritage of Wyoming
Valley. A series of training sessions
will provide the volunteer with the
necessary tools to work in a variety
of areas in the Society.
All workshops will be held each
Saturday starting Oct. 15 on the
second floor of the Historical
Society’s museum, 69 S. Franklin
St., Wilkes-Barre, located behind
the Osterhout Library.
Any interested person wishing to
volunteer at the Wyoming Historical
and Geological Society may do so
by contacting the Society at 823-
