Tug’s Tavern won top honors in
the third annual Noxen Rebels One-
Pitch softball tourney held on the
Noxen diamond. Davis’ Tavern fin-
ished second and Lamoreaux Auto
Parts, last year’s champs, finishing
in third place. ] :
Tug’s did it the hard way, defeat-
ing the Ballbusters, Shanky’s Cafe
and Lamoreaux Auto Parts to win
the loser’s bracket and earn the
right to play Davis’ Tavern for the
top honors. Tug’s eliminated Davis’
Tavern, 8-4 and 14-4.
Bill Fassett and Denny Imnman
provided the offensive punch for
Tug’s. Fassett won the trophy for
most hits in the tourney, banging
out 14 safeties in all. Tim (Bomber)
champions and also won the trophy
for the best defensive player of the
tourney. He made several key stops
sure hits.
This year’s competition was tough
as evidenced by several extra
inning games.

Bar girls copped three from Frank-
lins to take first place by one game
in front of Tom Reese who split 2-2
with Brent Long. Closest to hitting
175 was N. Moser with 174.
High series were few in the Back
Mt. Church League with T. Wilson's
221 (544) high for all teams as his
Lutherans blanked Shavertown B to
move into second one game behind
Shavertown A who took three points
from East Dallas. Dallas A shut out
Carverton A to stay on the Heels of
the Lutherans. East Dallas is in
fourth spot tied with Shavertown B.

The Wyoming Valley Ski Club will
hold its regular monthly meeting on
Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. at Gus
The annual road rally will be held
on Sunday, Oct. 2, 1983. Everyone
can sign up that morning from 10
am. to 11 am. in front of the
Gateway Cinema, Edwardsville.
On Friday, Oct. 7, the WVSC will

Ski Club is going to Whistler Moun-
tain. The dates set for this particu-
lar trip is March 10 to 17.
Deposits are now being taken on
all trips.
