Mrs. Mary Worman, 74, of Noxen,
died Sept. 8 at Tyler Memorial
Hospital, Tunkhannock, following a
long illness.
Surviving are her husband,
Sidney, Brooklyn, N.Y.; sons,
Ronald, Culpeper, Va.; David,
Valley Stream, N.Y.; daughter,
~ Mrs. Nancy Weber, Noxen; 12
grandchildren; five great-grandchil-
dren; brother, Michael Dennis and
sisters, Mrs. Anna Catania and Mrs.
Julie Young, all of Wethersfield,
Conn.
Memorial services wee held Sept.
9 from the Nulton Funeral Home,
Beaumont, with the Rev. Kenneth
Boston, pastor of Assembly of God
Church of Mooretown, officiating.
ANTHONY J. PISANO
Anthony J. Pisano, 60, of 20 Wind-
sor Drive, Dallas, died Sept. 7 at
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital fol-
lowing a lengthy illness.
Surviving, in addition to his
father, Carmen Pisano, are his wife,
the former Mary Doran; son,
Anthony Jr., Lititz, Pa.; one grand-
daughter; one brother, Lewis,
Wilkes-Barre; several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral was held Sept. 9 from the
McLaughlin Funeral Home, Wilkes-
Barre, with a Mass of Christian
Burial at St. Leo’s Church, Ashley.
Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery,
Hanover Twp.

William F. Derhammer, 75, of RD
2, Harveys Lake, died Sept. 12 in
Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhan-
nock.
Surviving are his wife, Marion, at

and Robert, Pikes Creek; Richard

Robert J. Jeffrey, 98, formerly of
Wyoming, West Pittston and
Demunds Corners, Dallas, died
Sept. 12 in Nesbitt Memorial Hospi-
tal; Kingston.
Surviving are children, Robert J.
Jr., Johnson City, N.Y.; Mrs. Bea-
trice Cunningham, West Pittston;
six grandchildren, nine great-grand-
children.
Private funeral services were
held Sept. 14 from H. Merritt
Hughes Funeral Home, West Pitts-
ton, with Rev. Roger Ainslie-Rich-
ards officiating. Interment, Moun-
tain View Cemetery, Harding.

JULIUS A. VERBYLA
Julius A. Verbyla, of RD 1, Sweet
Valley, Mooretown, was pronounced
dead Sept. 14 at the scene of a truck
accident in Benton.
Surviving are his parents, Julius
M. and Constance Kuchinsky Ver
byla, with whom he resided; broth-
ers, William, Mooretown; Mark and
Luke at home.
Funeral was held Sept. 17 from
Lehman Funeral Home, Wilkes-
Barre, with the Rev. Robert Sauers,
pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran
Church, Hughestown; officiating
Inferment, Oak Lawn Cemetery,
Hanover Township.
Show Canceled
The Back Mountain JayCees
regretfully announce that the Back
Mountain Horse Show scheduled for
October 2 will not be held this year.
Due to a conflict of dates for the
use of the grounds, the JayCees
have been forced to cancel this
project.
The show committee is sorry to
disappoint its many exhibitors and
sponsors, but is looking forward to
renewing this project in the year
ahead.
