ing his brother and sister-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mociun, Sr.
of Vernon, and other relatives in the
Wyoming Valley. While here, Rev.
Mociun and members of his family
visited Poland. Accompany Rev.
Mociun on the trip to Poland were
his brothers, Raymond Sr., Vernon;
Stanley of Plains; Ralph of Wind-
sor, N.Y. and his two sisters, Mrs.
Jack Harrity and Miss Alfreda
Mociun of Plains.

WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS!
Friday during daylight hours, the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cool-
baugh on Village Road in Orange
was burglarized and a large quant-
ity of jewelry, cash and a handgun
were stolen. On Saturday, their son,
Randy suffered a fracture of the
arm while at a picnic at Falls. State
police were still investigating the
robbery at presstime, one of two
arm fracture set on Thursday and
was hoping to be home for last
weekend. 5

teer Fire Co. and is active in
Tunkhannock Area Jaycees. The
drive will kickoff on Sept. 26 and
proceeds will benefit 17 Wyoming

held their annual family picnic on
Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Franklin
Twp. fire hall in Orange with a
large crowd in attendance. Day’s
activities were opened with a mass
offered by the pastor, Rev. John
Foley, after which a program of
games and refreshments was
enjoyed. Gifts for the oldest
member attending went to Mrs.
Elizabeth ~Stofila, 82 years of age,
and Crystal Cardimone, youngest
member attending.
Major winners of prizes at the
picnic were Frank Patts, Paul Star-
olis, Mrs. Pat Luke. Door prize
winners were Percy Smith and Mrs.
Ann Millington. Coordinating picnic
plans were Larry Kalnoskas, Sr.,
John Kundrat, Mrs. Celeste Geskey
and Mrs. Ann Scoble.

MRS. RUTH PATTON of Noxen
and MRS. THELMA DIETZ of
Beaumont will coordinate the 1983
United Way Fund drive in Noxen
and Monroe Townships respectively.
The drive, which will benefit 17
Wyoming County agencies, will
kickoff on Sept. 26 and has a county-
wide goal of $143,000 by Oct. 10.
Both Mrs. Patton and Mrs. Dietz
are active in community affairs.
They will be assisted by a group of
canvassers from both townships.

the new Junior Girl Scout Troop 214
that was organized Tuesday night,
with a membership of 10 Juniors.
The new troop will meet Tuesday
. afternoons from 4;30 to 6 in a
special room at Smith’s Country
Store in Beaumont. Membership in
the new troop is still open and any
girl interested in joining is asked to
attend Tuesday’s meeting, accom-
panied by a parent and a registra-
tion fee of $3.
