THE DALLAS POST, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 1983 3
A happy bunch
Jim Regan of Dallas spends time with his grandsons, Connor
Garvey and Brian and J. Michael Regan, on a solid oak
swing set he built for them. The family dog joins in for some
fun, too.

The usual after dinner treat is
a ride in grandpa’s special car -
a prize-winning 1929 Chrysler
Coupe complete with rumble seat
just being with their grandpar-
ents.
Probably this sharing of love
through the generations is what
Marion McQuade of West Vir-
ginia and Michael Goldgar of
Georgia had in mind when they
founded Grandparents’ Day six
years ago. It is a wonderful
holiday for special people - some-
thing the Regan clan, both young
and old, knows in their hearts.

SHADES OF THE OLD WEST.
The entire area was buzzing with
news about the slaughter of one of
Stanley Denmon’s prize Hereford
cows early Sunday morning, Aug.
28, by modern day rustlers. The
rustlers entered one of Denmon’s
fields where the Herefords were
bedded down; slit the throat of a
young three-year-old cow; butch-
ered the animal on the spot and
made off with about 500 pounds of
fresh beef, leaving only the cows
head, tail and lower legs. The beef
was then loaded int oan automobile
and removed.
Larry Denmon, 29-year old son of
the owner, is offering a $250 reward
for information leading to the arrest
and conviction of the cattle thieves.
Meanwhile, state police from the
Tunkhannock sub-station are contin-
uing the investigation and all area
farmers, who have cattle on their
farms, have their guns loaded just
in case!
