Over 500 Enjoy Picnic
The Knights of Columbus 3987 of Luzerne held its
annual family picnic recently at Granddaddy’s Grove
in Dallas with over 500 in attendance. Food and
refreshments were served and games were played
throughout the day.
Chairman John Kurilla was assisted by Bob
Magalski, Steve Gluchanyk, Leonard Grozalis, Grand
Knight; John Broda and Grand Knight-elect Chester
Daniels and Mike Uter.

MR. AND MRS. JOSEPH RUSSO
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Russo, 195 Simpson St., Swoyers-
ville celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary yester-
day. They were married Aug. 23, 1958 at St. Anthony’s
Church in Exeter by Rev. Lawrence Pio 0.S.J. Mrs.
Russo is the former Lillian Fanti, daughter of the late
Guido Fanti of Exeter. Mr. Russo is the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Nicolas Russo of Little Falls, New Jersey.
Their attendants were Madeline Cosimo Gruver, Viola
~ FAnti Marrianacci, Pauline Fanti Orlandini, Marion
Mihalko Horny, Denise Splendido Yanchick, Henry
O'Dell, Joseph Marianacci, John Gabriel, John Korski
and Angelo Salvatore.
They have one son, Nicholas.
A Mass of Thinksgiving was celebrated on Aug. 13 at
St. Anthony’s Church with Rev. Enrico Giovetto 0.S.J.
officiating. A party was held in their honor at the R&J
Family Restuarant in Wyoming. :
Mr. Russo is a Carpenter at the Nuclear Plant in
Berwick. Mrs. Russo is chairman of the newly formed
Swoyersville Crime Watch Program.
MR. AND MRS. AL SHAROCK, 10 New Sullivan St.,
Swoyersville, will celebrate their 30th wedding anniver-
sary this coming Sunday. They were wed Aug. 19, 1953
at St. Mary’s Church in Swoyersville by the late Rev.
Anthony Lewandowski. Mrs. Sharock is the former Joan
Baut, daughter of Mrs. Loretta Baut and the late Walter
Baut of Swoyersville. Mr. Sharock is the son of Mrs.
Anna .Sharock and the late John Sharock of Edwards-
ville. =
Their attendants were Mrs. Mala Magich Decker and
John Hometchko Jr.
The Sharocks were blessed with two daughers, Nancy,
employed by the Bell Telephone Co.; and Loretta, an
R.N. at the General Hospital in Wilkes Barre.
Mr. Sharock is associated with the Royer Foundry Co.
in Kingston. Mrs. Sharock is employed with the Main
Pants Co. in West Pittston. :
- Mr. Sharock is a former Commander of the Andrew
Lawrence American Legion Legion Post 644 and he was
a former Director of the Home Association. He is active
with the St. Mary’s Church Holy Name Society.

MR. AND MRS. JOHN SABADISH, 84 Dennison St.,
Swoyersville, will celebrate their 33rd wedding anniver-
sary on Friday. They were wed Aug. 26, 1950 by the late
Rev. Michael Frohman at St. Anthony’s Church in
Larksville. Mrs. Sabidish is the former Rita Kurovsky,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kurovsky of
Larksville. Mr. Sabadish is the son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. John Sabadish of Swoyersville.
Their attendants were Margaret Sabadish Nenichka
and Andrew Kurovsky.
They were blessed with five children: Mrs. Mary Ann
Spitale, Highland, N.Y.; Mrs. Gloria Phillips, Hanover
Twp.; John Jr. with the USAF in Ogden, Utah; Joseph,
a medical student at Hahnemann Medical University in
Philadelphia; and Michael, a student at the Holy Trinity
School. They also have five grandchildren: Anna and
John Spitale, Emily and Elizabeth Phillips, and John
Sabadish.
Mr. Sabadish is an Unpholster Instructor at the West
Side Vo-Tech, in Pringle. Both are active in the Holy

MR. AND MRS. TED GABLE, 126 Oliver St., Swoyers-
ville, will celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary this
coming Saturday. They were married Aug. 25, 1962 at
Sacred Heart Church in Luzerne by the late Msgr.
Lawrence Weiniger. Mrs. Gabel is the former Ann Mary
Curley daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Curley
of Luzerne. Mr. Gabel is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Edmund Gabel of Swoyersville.
Their attendants were Ruth Ann Ruddy and Patrick
Heffron.
The Gabels are the proud parents of two children,
Martin and Katherine. -
Mr. Gabel is associated with the Nicholison Machine
Shop in Wilkes Barre. He is active with the Swoyersville
Little League and Jr. Football Organization.
MR. AND MRS. JOHN CHIPEGO SR., 426 Owen St.,
Swoyersville, are celebrating their 47th wedding anni-
versary yesterday. They were married Aug. 24, 1938 at
the Holy Trinity Church in Swoyersville by the late Rev.
John A. Karnish.
Mrs. Chipego is the former Mary Stefanides, daughter
of the late Mary and Stephen Stefanides Sr. of Swoyers-
ville. Mr. Chipego is the son of the late Anthony and
Mageline Chipego of Swoyersville.
Their attendants were Mrs. Helen Stefanides, Mrs.
Pauline Kopec Nogacki, Mrs. Attoinette Chipego Silko-
ski, Stephen Podskoch Sr., sponsor, Martin Podskoch,
Joseph Stefanides and Charles Graci.
The Chipegos are the proud parents of two sons, John
Jr., Maple Drive, Swoyersille; and Albert, vice presi-
dent of Bond Industries in New York City.
They also have three grandchildren, John III, Jean
Marie and Frank Chipego.
Mr. Chipego is a retired miner, having worked in the
coal mines for over 45 years. Mrs. Chipego is active in
Holy Trinity Church affairs, serving as president of the
Altar and Rosary Society for many years and is a past
president of the Christian Mothers and an officer of the
Swoyersville Senior Citizens Organization.

MR. AND MRS. ROBERT “WORLER” WORLINSKY,
65 Ave. A, Swoyersville, will celebrate their 29th
wedding anniversary this coming Sunday. They were
wed Aug. 28, 1954 at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic
Church in Swoyersville by Rev. George Hritz. Mrs.
Worlinsky is the former Joan Harzinski, daughter of
former Mayor Mary Harzinski and late Mayor Anthony
Harzinski of Swoyersville. Worlinsky is the son of Mrs.
Mary Worlinsky of Swoyersville and the late Ben
“Polish Benny” Worlinsky. :
Their attendants were Loretta Giraldi and the late
George Rishko.
The Worlinskys are the proud parents of three
children: Dianne, Duryea; Robert Jr., Mountaintop;
and Anthony, a junior at Valley West. They also have
two grandsons.
Mr. Worlingsky is employed with the Nuclear Plant in
berwick as an electrician. He is a top golfer, dart
shooter and pool player and one of the pioneers of the
Swoyersville Slo Pitch League.

MR. AND MRS. WALTER STANISHEFSKI, 288 Shoe-
maker St., Swoyersville, will celebrate their 36th
wedding anniversary this coming Tuesday. They were
married Aug. 30, 1947 at St. Michael’s and Greek
Catholic Church in Pittston by Rev. Father Warde. Mrs.
Stanishefski is the former Helen Tocheny, daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Tocheny of Exeter. Mr.
Stanishefski is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Stanishefski of Swoyersville.
Their attendants were Eleanor Stanishefski Wojnar-
ski, Josephine Gowisnok Burakavich, Dolores Tocheny
Tutay, Andrew Tocheny Jr., George Gowisnok, Michael

The Stanishefskis are the proud parents of two
children: Barbara, Swoyersville; and Myron, Edwards-
ville, who will be entering Wilkes College this Septem-

Klobuciusky. Mrs. Tressa is the former Lois Yatko,
daughter of Mrs. Irene Yatko of Ashley and the late

Polcha. Mrs. Krakosky is the former Jean Silic,
daughter of Mrs. Marian Silic of Courtdale and the late
John Silic. Mr. Krakosky is the son of Mrs. Betty
Krakosky of Swoyersville and the late John Krakosky.

Carlin, Rose Ziminsky Koptchko, Dorothy Emerich,
Susan Krakosky, John Silic Jr., John Krakosky Jr., Ray

Jr., with the TNT Rock Band; Cathy, Karen and
Michael.

versary today. They were married Aug. 24, 1931, by the
late Rev. John A. Karnish at Holy Trinity Church in
Swoyersville. Mrs. Pollick is the former Rose Charnesky
of Swoyersville. :

The Pollicks are the parents of two children, Mrs.
Bernadette Kintinger, Humble, Texas; and Jerome,
Swoyersville. They also have seven grandchildren, Lois
Elston, Donna Sullivan, both of California; Donna,
Bridget Pollick of Swoyersville. They have one great
grandson, Shawn Sullivan.
Mr. Pollick is retired from the Blue Ribbon Bakery
and Interstate Bakery in Kingston.

Mrs. Gutch is the former Julia Koprevich of Swoyers-
ville.
