Ecumenical Enterprises, Inc. (EEl), a local non-profit corporation, proudly announces
the opening of the Meadows Nursing Center — a 120 bed facility at 55 West Center Hill
Road in Dallas Township. The $4.2 million structure features the most modern equip-
ment and services in skilled and intermediate nursing care. It is situated on a scenic 15
acre tract across from College Misericordia and is accessible from both Route 415 (the
Dallas-Harveys Lake Highway) and Lake Street.
The Meadows Nursing Center is the second phase of the Meadows Geriatric Campus
being developed by EEI. The first phase, the 120 unit Meadows Apartments, was com-
pletedin 1981.
The Meadows Nursing Center is open to any person eighteen years of age and older
requiring nursing care. The Center accepts private paying residents and is also a
provider under agreement with Medicare, Medicaid and the Blue Cross/65 special
program.
EEI
Ecumenical Enterprises, Incorporated (EEl) is a non-profit corporation created in
1968 under the sponsorship of the First Presbyterian Church of Wilkes-Barre the
Roman Catholic Diocese of Scranton, the Jewish Federation of Greater Wilkes-Barre
and the Metropolitan Lutheran Council of Wyoming Valley.
EEl is operated by a Board of Directors comprised of 21 members from the four spon-
soring groups. Officers of the Board are: Attorney Sol Lubin, President; Reverend Jule
Ayers, Chairman; Dr. Ellis Roberts, Vice-President; Philip Tuhy, Secretary; Monsignor
Donald McAndrews, Treasurer; and Harry Seargant, Assistant Secretary. Chief
operating officer of EEl is Executive Director Raymond Condo. Thomas Sweeney is
Administrator of the facility.
In addition to the Meadows Nursing Center, EEl owns and operates the following; the
Interfaith Heights Apartments, Wilkes-Barre; the Midtowne Apartments, Wyoming;
and the Meadows Apartments, Dallas Township. EEl is also presently constructing an
11 story apartment structure for the elderly in West Pittston which is expected to be
operational by Spring of 1984.

The Meadows Nursing Center will utilize a full-team medical approach on an on-
going basis with each resident. Complete restorative nursing services are availabe
based on the resident's personal physician's plan of care. Physical therapy will be
available on a daily basis for those residents requiring such service. Some other ser-
vices at the Center will include therapeutic and recreational activities, dietary ser-
vice, social services, housekeeping, laundry, beauty and barber service, pharmacy,
and eye, dental and podiatric care. The Center also houses a gift shop, snack shop,
large living areas and a comfortable lounge area.
