MRS. KENNETH INMAN and her daughter, Mrs.

PLANS ARE MOVING along nicely for the annual
benefit bazaar of Northmoreland Volunteer Fire Com-
pany to be held on Aug. 25-27 at the fire company
grounds in Centermoreland. Bazaar will open with
evening, Aug. 25. Parade will take place Friday, Aug.
27, starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by an auction at 10
a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27.

MEMBERS OF ST. FRANCES X. CABRINI CHURCH
at Carverton and its sister parish, Blessed Sacrament
Church at Centermoreland, are completing plans for
their annual Family Picnic for members of both
congregations to be held Sunday, Sept. 11, at the
Franklin Township fire hall in Orange. Rev. John P.
Foley, pastor, is honorary chairman. General co-
chairmen are John Kundrat and Larry Kalnoskas.

DAVID VIRTHLER, founder and president of Dedica-
tion Evangelism, based in Towaco, N.J., will conduct a
series of evangelistic meetings and services at the
Northmoreland Baptist Church in Centermoreland on
Sept. 11-14, Rev. James Howell, pastor of the North-
moreland Baptist Church has announced. Virthler will
address current topics and issues of the day during the
four day meetings.

PENNDOT EMPLOYEES have completed resurfacing
of Orange Road from the Grange Hall at the jointure of
Bodle Road and Orange Road to the center of the village
of Orange, a distance of just over three miles. Resurfac-
ing of Orange Road is one of several road improvements
completed this summer in Franklin, Kingston and
Dallas Townships - all of which were welcomed by
motorists and residents of the three townships.

PLANS FOR THE ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL of
East Dallas United Methodist Church will be furthered
at a meeting of the administrative board of the church
this evening at 7. This year’s Festival will be held on
Saturday, Sept. 17, on the church grounds on Lower
Demunds Road.

ELLA MOORE CLASS of East Dallas United Method-
ist Church held a craft session last Tuesday with 16
members turning out for the covered dish dinner and
meeting, which followed.

NORTHMORELAND TOWNSHIP VOLUNTEER
FIRE COMPANY is completing plans for its annual
bazaar and auction to be held Aug. 25, 26, 27, at the fire
company grounds in Centermoreland. Highlight of this
year’s affair will be the parade to be held Friday
evening, Aug. 26. Wilmer Faux is chairman of the
parade committee; Jim Gilpin is chairman of the
bazaar committee. Charles Goble 'is president of the
Northmoreland Fire Company.

The Luzerne County 4-H Horse
Show, sponsored by the Pennsylvania
State University Cooperative Exten-
sion Service, was held Aug. 6 at the
Lehman Horse Show Grounds, Route
118.
The show featured 4-H members
who have been enrolled in the pro-
gram since October, 1982.
Sixteen-year-old Evan Brown of
Dallas won first place honors in the
Clover Leaf Barrel Race, first place in
the Keyhole Class and second place in
the four-corner stake class.
Marcy Brown, age 18, of Harveys
Dallas Post/Dan Walsh
Lake, grabbed a first place in the
four-corner stake class and a fourth
place in the Clover Leaf Barrel Race.
Eleven-year-old Amy McLaughlin of
Harveys Lake won first place in the
Stock Seat Equitation Division, first
place in the Open Trail Event, Pony
Division and second place in Groom-
ing and Showmanship, Jr. Division.
Chris McLaughlin, age 18, of Har-
veys Lake, placed fourth in the Open
Trail, Horse Diision; fourth in Hunters
Seat, Equitation Senior Division; and
was a member of the County team
which placed first overall,

Frank J. Burnat, 72, of RD 5,
Shavertown, died Aug. 10 in Leader
East Nursing and Rehabilitation
Center, Kingston, following an illness.
Surviving are a daughter, Theresa,
Wyoming; brothers, John, Larksville
and Joseph, Dallas.
Funeral was held Aug. 13 from the
Piszezek Funeral Home, Plymouth,
with mass of Christian Burial in St.
John the Baptist Church, Larksville.
Interment, parish cemetery, Dallas.
EDITH CHAMBERLAIN
Edith R. Chamberlain, 88, of Hunts-
ville, died Aug. 11 at Leader East
Nursing Center, Kingston, wher she
had been a guest for six months.
“Surviving are sons, Francis R.
Chamberlain, Lake Silkworth; Walter
E. Chamberlain Jr., Huntsville, with
whom she resided; Robert N. Cham-
berlain, Fullerton, Calif; six grand-
children; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was held Aug. 13 from
Swanson Funeral Home, Pikes Creek.

Sister Mary Francesca McLaughlin,
a member of the Sisters of Mercy over
60 years, died Aug. 6 at Mercy Center
Convent, Dallas.
Surviving are a brother, John F.,
Alexandria, Va.; nieces and nephews.

9 in Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Mercy
Center, College Misericordia, Dallas.

Noxen, died Aug. 12 at Pleasant
Living Convalescent Center, Edge-
water, Md.

Stella Devine, Crownsville, Md., whom
he had been visiting at the time of his
