SAFETY CLASSES The Wyoming Valley Chapter, American Red Cross announces the scheduling of several day- time safety classes. CPR: Race for Life is a three-hour class which will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2-5 p.m.; Friday, July 22, 9 a.m. to noon; and Monday, July 25, 9 a.m. to noon. This course includes artificial respira- tion, one-person rescuer y CPR and obstructed airway techniques. An 8-hour Multimedia First Aid Course will be conducted on Fridays, July 8 and 15, from 1-5 p.m. This course will also be held on Mondays, July 11 and 18, from 9a.m. to 1 p.m. Certificates are awarded for successful completion. The Harveys Lake Rec- reation Committee announces its first summer day camp pro- gram beginning on July 5. The five-week program will be held at the Robert D. Revenue Secretary Jim Scheiner today announced that a total of $10,777, 965.31 in Liquid Fuels Tax monies: - to be used for local highway mainte- nance programs - was dis- tributed this weekend to county governments in Pennsylvania. One-half cent of the 11 cents per gallon tax on gasoline and diesel fuels is designated to county gov- ernments.. The $10.8 mil- lion in payments covers the period from December 1, 1982 to May 31, 1983. The highest payments for the six-month period were $1,646,022.39 to Phila- delphia and $1,506,167.71 to Allegheny. Counties receiving payments of more than $300,000 were Montgomery, $431,281.70; Luzerne, $381,556.53; Dela- ware, $352,927.02; Berks, $327,147.83; and Westmore- land, $301,046.56. Liquid Fuels Tax funds are distributed to county governments twice a year - in June and December.
