    Kindergarten Classes Hold Party
Lehman-Jackson Elementary kindergarten classes held a graduation party on the last day of
(3 school. After enjoying a movie, each child received an attendance certificate. The children were
~ then treated to an ice cream party and a final visit with their instructional mascot, Astro. During,
the year, homeroom mothers provided each child with a hand-made Astro doll and T-shirt transfer.
A perfect attendance certificate was presented to Billy Swanson (K-C). The classes are taught by
Miss Joyce Del Kanic, Mrs. Mary Ann Agustini and Mrs. Nancy Cushing. Shown in the top photo

WVW Students Attend Competition
Eight Wyoming Valley West High School students recently travelled to the University of Maryland
to compete in the National History Day competition held June 15-18. The students are of the first
and second place winners of the state of Pennsylvania. Their projects will be judged along with 98
others from across the United States. Shown in the photograph are the state finalists. Seated,

Receives
Degree
Debra S. Dymond was a
member of the 1983 gradu-
ating class at the Univer-
sity of Pennsylvania,
School of Veterinary Medi-
cine, Philadelphia, earlier
this month. She received a
bachelor of science degree
in veterinary medicine.
A twin sister, Miss Bar-
bara L. Dymond, also
holds a bachelor of science
degree in Veterinary Medi-
cine. Both are graduates
of Wyoming Area High
School. Debra has
accepted a position as one
of three veterinarians at
the Loyalsox Animal Hos-
pital. Her twin sister, Bar-
bara, is a veterinarian at
the Bloomsburg Veteri-
nary Clinic.
Both girls are daughters
of Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Dymond of RD 1, Schooley
Road, Mount Zion, Pitts-
ton. Another daughter,
Brenda Dymond, a gradu-
ate of College Misericordia
with a degree in elemen-
tary education, is a substi-
tute teacher in Wyoming

James Receives Scholarship
