The Lake-Lehman School District
hereby gives notice that a tentative
Budget in the amount of funds that will
be required by the School District in its
several departments for the 1983-84
fiscal year is available for public inspec-
tion at the Office of the Secretary in the
Administrative Offices, Lehman-Jackson
Elementary School, Lehman, Pennsyl-
vania, between the hours of 8:00 AM
and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
It is the intent of the Board of School
Directors of the Lake-Lehman School
District to adopt this tentative budget
after making such revisions in it as are
deemed advisable and levy the pro-
posed taxes at a time to be announced
at the regular monthly meeting of the
Lake-Lehman Board of School Direc-
tors, Rs June 14, 1983, at 8:00
PM at the Lake-Lehman Senior High
School, Lehman, Pennsylvania, or
through the local media. y
Notice is also given of the provisions
of Act 138. approved June 16, 1972,
requiring every resident or inhabitant of
the District upon attaining eighteen
years of age, and every person eigh-
teen years of age or over becoming a
resident or inhabitant of the District to
notify the proper assessor of this fact
within 12 months thereafter. Failure to
comply with this requirement subjects
the individual to a penalty equal to the
tax for which he is liable

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a
Special Mesting of the Dallas School
District Board of Directors held May 31,
1983, a resolution was adopted 10
approve a tentative proposed budget
for the school year 1983-84, which sets
forth therein expenditures in the
amount of $8,824,096.00, based on a
tax levy of 111 mills per dollar ($11.10
per hundred dollars of assessed valua-
tion on real estate); a per capita tax of
$5.00 per taxable person, under the
authority of Section 679 of the Pennsyl-
vania School Laws of 1949 and its
amendments, and a reenactment of a
per capita tax of $5.00 per taxable
erson, under authority of Act 511 of
ecember 31, 1965; a revision of Act
481 of June 25, 1947, without substan-
tial change, making a total of per capita
taxes noe $10.00 to be levied and
collected from each taxable person; in
addition an earned income tax on
wages, salaries, commissions and other
earned income of individuals at a rate
of 1 percent (shared 50-50 with the
municipalities of the district), under
authority of Act 511 of December 31,
1965 and a Real Estate Transfer Tax of
1 percent (shared 50-50 with the
municipalities of the district, under
authority of Act 511 of December 31,
1965) and an occupational privilege tax
in the amount of $10.00 for all individu-
als, excluding those whose earnings

30, 1951 (P.L. 962), as indicated
according to Section 680 (b) of the
school code, requiring that every resi-
dent or inhabitant of the School District
upon attaining the age of eighteen
years of age or becoming a resident or
inhabitant of the District shall within 12
months after the happening thereof,
notify the Luzerne County Assessor's
Office, Thomas Garrity, Chairman of the
Board of Assessors, of his becoming of
age or becoming a resident or inhabit-
ant. Any person failing, within said
period to notify said assessor, or his
successor, of said school district, shall,
in addition to the tax levied by such
school district, be liable to said school
district in a penal sum equal to such

grams, parties, sporting
events, trips, games and
other activities for the
children.
Western Night, Christ-
mas in July, bi-weekly
library trips, Olympics
Day, story hours and a
cookout are among the
scheduled events. Snacks
and soda are available.
Arts and crafts will be
held every Tuesday begin-
ning next week from 9:30-
11 for children ages 5-11
years old. A story hour for
children of all ages will
follow. Group games will
be Monday, Wednesday,
Friday from 10-12 and
again at night from 6:30-
7:30.
The center is located on
Burndale Avenue in
Dallas. It is open Monday
through Friday from 9
